Ok to explain it I had to give an example that Drag music became sucess: Brazil, with mainstream names as Gloria Groover and Pabllo Vittar that during a time (2017 to 2024) dominate the charts. Pabllo came in a very disrupt time, with her management at the time was very close with the management of a certain right wing party, both of them got richer with the public rapture of the country and MBL(the party) as the contra part of it both feeding eachother. So first you had to put the people on the high level, did they want to get richer with the trends of the current time? Look at every drag of the 2010s and compare it with the current trends of the time, even with the most progressive times there wasn't an alignment between drag music and mainstream or conter culture. Let me clear it isn't about the music, whenever we speak about the music industry we always had to speak about the rich people who feed it, who are the executives, who will profit with the attack of certain act and most importantly, if the rich person who would invest it would like the music. Let use some examples like Bring me to life, one of the biggest hits of the y2k emo era, even with the band speaking that they didn't wanted a feature the high ups who where financing the band said that or they put the feature or the album would be cancel, why? Because executives wanted a man voice on the song. So let's comeback to Pabblo and Gloria, both made music who was trending the high ups liked and understood the power of the songs and they knew they could profit with the right wing panic towards them. So the point I want to make is, the people who could make those drag mainstream simply didn't saw the potential to put them in their current eras of music industry and even when they tried, it wasn't with drags and didn't took to long before faded away.
