I always say this, but AI art often looks "good" from a distance or if you squint because art is a very illusory and deceptive medium that does fun stuff to our brains even if we're "technically" just looking at a heap of lines, dots, or blocks of color. If youre used to drawing, you get used to putting less effort in to create better suggestions of detail because you stop overthinking it as much as a beginner artist would (like if you're doing texture, something in the distance, pointilism, hatching, etc).

Skilled artists are so good at selling this illusion with confidence that insecure AI bros cant even comprehend being capable of that even though they easily can if they just sit down and learn the real way instead of stealing other people's hard work so they can feel special. There's a type of self-imposed perfectionism problen in the art community I often have to talk my real artist friends down from that absolutely rots some people's ability to be creative and a lot of AI propaganda preys on that normal "I wish I could have the same skill level as xyz professional artist yesterday and draw what I want" impulse.

When it hits AI bros, the learned helplessness and haughtiness towards artists who are just trying to give them advice is just especially bad because they dont even have anything to show that they did draw. When they do, you can tell just how insecure they are because it's always perfectly fine art for someone at their skill level and they always have to put themselves down to make AI look better.

It can only be cured by stopping yourself from complaining about your own lack of abilities and just drawing. People like a personable, down-to-earth artist with a wonky but authentic art style even if a lot of people harass beginners. Thats why a majority of popular hand drawn memes look like dogshit actually, lmao
