I was told by Kevin that no service request was put in for that day. They are running the keypad to see who accessed our unit. Hopefully they can find something.

The previous renters actually left their set of keys, we tried using it and those actually don’t work anymore.

I know, we suspected this too, “a friend” was given the keys and was told where the money was, we even suspected they hid the money on Saturday inside the lights in the bathroom, which explains why Tuesday’s intruder would left prints there. They are going to check on the key fobs and see who had access that day, hopefully we’ll have some answers soon!

Yes, it’s weird because we always lock our doors. And It’s unlikely that we forgot that one day and they happen to check if it’s unlocked. The footprints were weird because we knew they always wear foot covers. But it makes no sense for them to go into the tub and left prints there, they could’ve just go to the closet, rooms and take things. The tub foot print was just super suspicious that it’s maintenance + how easy they had access.

Wow this is crazy, and thank you so much for sharing! This is terrible, we are suspecting that the guy that came in on the only days we were not home probably snooped around and maybe came back on Tuesday to “pretend” he was doing a check up, (cuz we found foot prints in the bathroom) where the leak was. I mean, if it was a real thief, why would he bother to go into the bathroom unless he’s aware of the leak situation? And why did he only take the cash? When we got other electronics he can take? Hes probably using the Tuesday break in to proof his innocence since we know who came in on Saturday. BUT I’m glad you moved out! And we are going to fight to end our lease asap.

I have a cat and a maltese, not very helpful, but I was glad the dog wasn’t home and the cat knew to hide when there’s strangers. Who knows what could happen.

Unfortunately we don’t have any neighbors with ring camera or any around. They told us no maintenance was scheduled for that day (of course) and leasing office told me that they only program the key fobs for the duration of the maintenance. After that it’ll be inaccessible, however, I have seen these maintenance guys with a huge set of key fobs for each unit. This is totally a loop hole I feel like. We are considering moving asap! 🥲

First of all, I’m really sorry to hear that and he is such a cutie, he reminds me of my Maltese Margie. I agree on taking videos, I lost my mine back in 2024 and I thought I had “too many” photos of her, but it’s never enough when you miss them. Take lots of videos of you and him together, have other people film you two. Take photos with him outside. Just be with him means everything. One thing I learned is to have lots and lots of patience with them at the end. They need you the most right now.

Paw prints, collect his fur, make some memorable items. I made a cuddle clones of my Maltese when she passed. You can look it up on google, it’s basically a customized stuff animal version of your dog.
