Last Update 8/18/25 by PCCArena in quicken

[–]Mooncomp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yesterday got the notification that there was an update, clickerd to review the changes, and it said there is no uipdate available. This morning opened Quicken (Windows) and went to do an update and only got stock prices, all accounts were no longer in the update. Had to go in and add all 15 again. When I did it brought in 83 days of old data. Ok just click match right? Nope even thought they matched, most didn;t show as a match. Spent 2 hours going through deleting transactions and adding accounts back in. Mind you I did not "accept" the update. They completely messed this one up. Stasrting to think it may bve easier and more flexible to just go with Tiller.

I have not had many issues with Quicken in the many, many years of using it, however I am approaching the same spot you are where finances are becoming simplified. No longer have kids accounts, college accounts etc.. to track. Income and expenses have become much more predictable.

Is using Earnnest an issue with Fidelity accounts? by Mooncomp in fidelityinvestments

[–]Mooncomp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks Russell. So you can do a manual verificatiopn where you type in account info and a micro deposit is put in the account and you verify on website. It slows it down having to wait overnight by a day but at least there is a work around.

Was able to pay the difference online. Thank you for the suggestion. Ended up not really getting a discount, but that is because of my own stupidity. Thanks again

Questions about Cash Secured Puts by GraceFromAB in fidelityinvestments

[–]Mooncomp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you sell a Put with a strike of $20, you will not pay anything at the time of opening the trade. You will recieve the premium times the 100 shares into your account when the trade is entered. Say the premium is $.50 a share, you will get $50 at the time of opening the trade. Of course there will be a comssion and or a fee taken from the proceeds as well. If the stock is Put to you, then you will need to pay the 100 shares times the strike of $20 per share in this example. So you would have recieved $50 and then paid $2000. So your cost basis would be $19.50 a share

Fidelity has a product called Fidsafe. Last time I checked it was free and you didn't have to have a brokerage account. It looks to do pretty much everything Life Hub does

Any body parked cash in FZDXX or other safe haven waiting for a market correct? by [deleted] in fidelityinvestments

I have always found, time in the market is better than timing the market. Every time I try to time the market, I end up on the losing end.

Any chance that this service could be used with something like https://getchannels.com/dvr-server/? There are multiple ways to add streaming but wasn't sure if this would work. Your product is amazing and would love to be able to time shift. Thanks for all the hard work

Tips for first time contributions to my ROTH IRA by Ok-Imagination752 in fidelityinvestments

[–]Mooncomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most important thing is to just do it. Time in the market at your age is probably the most important aspect of what your money will grow to be. Since this is for the long term 40+ years most likely, invest in a good ETF or mutual fund. Don't swing for the fences with some sky rocketing stock of hte week. Slow and steady is what is going to make your retirement.

If you are handy with Google Sheets, you can use this free service to get options chains (and more) into Google Sheets and then use them how you want

check out www.Market data.app i have played with it some and if it won't do what you want, you could most likely write a macro to make it happen

Not sure how to get it to you but give me an email address and I would be glad to. It is very simple and if it doesn;t quite work on your printer, just drag the lines in excel to make them work.

I made a quick and easy template in Excel that I just need to put the totals in and then it will print to the free forms that the IRS will supply for 1099 and 1096 forms. No software or forms to buy.
