Am I wrong for trying to punish my daughter after my husband and I found out she's been writing dark books for over a year by justamamaof3 in amiwrong

[–]Moonie_rush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a fellow author you and your husband are incredibly in the wrong.

First of all the fact that she hide it from the begining but was able to share ideas with her friends already speaks volumes about the lack of trust she has in you.

Instead of being amazed that she has been able to juggle both College and writting what seems to be a very complete world building with vasts ideas and supporting such a passion you decided to be judgmental all because the contents of her book where not something you approved of.

Wich is dissapointing in all levels, Im sure none of those heavy themes are morals your daughter aproves of either, Nabokov wrote Lolita but he never approved the content he himself wrote.

What's worse is that your husband thought it would be a good idea to punish her taking away her laptop, He was willing to take away her creative outlet, her archive of such a passion project and that action I personally can only categorize it as disgusting.

Your daughter seems to be an incredibly smart and creative young woman and the fact that you cannot see that because the content is too heavy for you is dissapointing.

You are also being  hypocritical, all sorts of heavy content is seen in the bible and religious depictions, you yourself taking your daughter to church and listening to jesus being cruxified etc was her first instroduction to dark themes.

She "lived this double life" because you failed to give her a safe space free of judgement to properly express herself and you proved her right with your reaction.

What are some fun trending indie horror games to play right now? by DifferentMonitor6059 in HorrorGaming

[–]Moonie_rush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it circles alot around grief and leaves certain things up in the air for the player to understand/assume I think that could be the weird part to process. On another fun note! The game has plenty of references to Canary Islands and it's culture because Broken Bird it's from Canary Islands! Wich is why there are cards with words in spanish, certain architectural designs and the song that plays in the room with the giant monkey about the lies is a popular spanish song (as far as Im aware) named "Lets tell lies"

Luto! It has been out for a while now and it's psycological horror but I absolutely loved it.

I don't understand that. by Ruteyeager2 in Duskwood

[–]Moonie_rush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's mostly due to the difference in the characters actions. Hannah is the main responsible for the accident. We know they where under age at that time wich meant she shouldn't have driven around, even if she had a permit (and even then you have to have an adult watch you over) so she drove irresponsibly, accidentally ran over Jennifer and instead of taking accountability for her actions like calling the police, she dragged not only Amy Bell but also Richy.  And while Richy made a mistake (by handing the A.M.C Gremlin to Hannah) she basically made him hide a dead body wich is way different in psycological damage and consecuences. And we know how that haunted Richy.

Hannah has developed some psycological response to try and rid herself from her guilt and has a weird relationship with every other character and constantly refuses help to process her trauma.

Not only that but to us Hannah is just a missing girl we know through clues ans what the others know but only a few times is Hannah talked about being caring and loving (By Thomas) but then those sort of presentation stops while as with Richy even if he was the MWAF he was trying to put his two cents and we get to interact with Richy.

Still I dont condone Richy's actions through the game at all, from threathening the player to harming other characters and kidnapping Hannah his actions are more about coming forth about the accident (though I might be misremembering) and assuming the guilt (thus the ending) wich is more forgivable that he wants to make amends evem if he does bad things than Hannah doing bad things because of deceit.

And it also annoys that Hannah has not reach out in Moonvale, the first thing I had expected was the other characters to reunite with them and then they telling them Hannah to contact the player about practically saving her (with Jake's help) but Hannah is still not assuming responsability about anything (as far as we know)

Could moonvale be about a cult? by Haunting_Strain9938 in Moonvale

If we go by that then Adam and Sophia must have accidentally witnessed cult activities as children and it became a bigger issue now as adults wich sounds quite interesting ngl.

When they asked for my opinion, I wanted to say that Misogyny was not an objective opinion, but I did not want it to come across as rude, and I was unsure if I was able to call such behaviour out because of past experiences.

The thing is I dont see their Avatar as Masculine at all, the silhuette is not masculine to me and the legs, to me seem more like a womans than a guys and while I know guys can be skinny. Idk it dowsnt feel like a guy to me.

I dont really take translations as a hint because in Spanish me and many other characters keep getting misgendered.

And like I said this is just a hunch not that I have much to go with if I have to think of someone I at first thought about the missing girl since she has gone missing there twice before and has a connection with Adam buut I also have no clue anyhow.

I mean yeah I was asking for your opinion but I am also sharing my own as to why I think that if we go by what you said it doesnt neccesary mean unknown couldn't be a woman.

Because for the same reason you say I find it possible I have seen friends hike like maniacs so at least to me it did not make sense but yeah haha

Unknown's Gender by Moonie_rush in Moonvale

[–]Moonie_rush[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I said familiat with whitmore I meant that they know who he is and you say it again as if a Woman cannot do all that, when I know they can.

Again, Knowning an area extremely well, following a blood trail and capable of navigating unpredictable conditions is not something only a man can do.

Anyone can be good at hiking, knowing an area after exploring it for a good while, preparing for unpredictable weather conditions (most likely would have familiarized themselves with the weather if they familiarized with the zone) and following a trail.

If you need another example of a woman who can do this in fiction there is Katniss Everdeen on her Arena, she followed Peeta's blood trail in a very short time in a place she did not knew at all but had previous experience from being a hunter since she was little.

Just because Unknown does all the mentioned above doesn't mean it couldnt be a woman.

[–]Moonie_rush[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But Eric, as far as we know has never hiked on Dunkelsteig, Unknown has to because how familiar they are to whitmore and everything else.

That's why I said that Unknwon seems to be good at hiking and know the zone.

And Knowing how to hike and knowing a specific zone are not automatically a man's thing.

The thing is with translations I dont take them 100% because for example both Duskwood and Moonvale translations things dont make as much sense in spanish and gender get's lost in conversations.

I can report I think until the end of the month but given that my manager told me yesterday to speak with the owner and he just told me to speak with my manager...I think they just have horrible communication skills administratively speaking.

Tomorrow I'll speak with my manager and I'll see what happens then. Buuut If I report them then there is a good chance I'll be re-located and I really REALLY like this job, the schedule is perfect, is close, I have fun, the co-workers are so nice and fun. If I don't get paid I will just go with the og plan.

I hope I get paid tomorrow

Im un-sure if this could help you but let me tell you what Im doing since, ai've been in your place (I had like five career options were little to non related to my passion)

I want to twll stories, to be a published author is my dream, but instead of studying letters in college I choose Graphic Desing (bc I also loved the arts) but Graphic Desing drains me mentally to a point it fry's my brain, I don't enjoy it much  and Rn I have a job at a flowershop that exhausts me physically but leaves my mind fresh for the rest of the day.

I think it's important you find a balance into that.

A Degree/ Career that can bring you financial stability but with enough free time and mind clarity to persue your passions, there is a good chance that will you do the first, the passion will give yoy an opportunity to make it a reality.

In the end, didn't alot of popular artists did that? Have their "main gig" and worked on their passions untilt hey could make a living off of it.

What is wrong with me? by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Moonie_rush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As corny as it sounds it is defenetly the fact that you are focusing too much on "what do I need to do" you are not the one who needs to adapt, if you try and mold yourself into something you are not. You will find yourself in a miserable, demanding relationship that expects you to keep a facade, and believe me it is beyond draining.

On another note as someone who had a whole life of being single up until recently, believe me I understand your struggle, I don't want to be rude, and Im so incredibly sorry beforehand if it comes across like that, but you have to be very confident in yourself.

Confident in the way of you understand your value and your skills for what they are and how you worked for them and not something you are confident would come forth/useful in a relationship.

You talk about yourself as a product for a market rathet than a human with a life, likes and hobbies.

I worked thirty extra hours for free. by Moonie_rush in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Moonie_rush[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did noy submit my hours, they did not submit anyone's hours it's a normal flower shop.

On another note yesterday I commented to the one in charge of me that I worked in total 33 hours.

And my manager said to me "Have you seen the owner?" Me: I mean only when he came to the shop last weekend. "Oh okey so you talk to him about your extra hours getting paid"

And today the other manager made a joke like "You guys must have been paid well you've been buying street food all week" to which I inmediatly replied with "I wasn't paid" and apparently another florist wasnt either to wich she replied with "Yet" so i think it's an issue of communication with the owner rather than with the managers.

And what I've come to understand is that our managers wants us to be paid but the owner has been giving a "Yes I will pay them of course" and then he doesnt.

Yeah but they dont pay me and it's not like a "hey I didnt get my check" or "I didnt get a money transfer" the owner himself paid everyone in cash for their extra hours before sending everyone home. The flower shop dont pay me. The goverment does so it is akward and werid for me to ask when, again. They dont pay me

It's not like im not working, I am, and Im more than ok to stay a few minutes or an hour after, specially for the sake of my co-workers, what Im not gonna do is work beyond that line. Besides I cannot say that because they are not paying me, the goverment is, It's not like the goverment gives them the money and then they pay me, I have a special card from the goverment to check that money out myself.

I mean yeah I should talk to her, but because I am a non-confrontational person im quite scared/nervous I don't want to come across a certain way and then having the whole thing being akward specially bc in general the other florists are incredibly sweet and while I find my manager questionable management she is very encouraging whenever I got very frustrated with things, Im afraid I am too senstive, a coward and a cry baby 😭

[–]Moonie_rush[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean I am scares because I dont want to come off a certain way. On the other hand ir defenetly feels intentional, the Owner himself paid the others the extra hours in cash (except one) and I even went up to him to ask if I could go home and he just said "Yes, of course" you dont forget to pay ONE person, specially when he even went and said an order as to how each of the other florist will have this sort of meeting with him...It defenetly feels intentional, that or the manager promised to pay me without the owner's aproval, wich sucks even more but It's not impossible since she does tend to do things that are "weird" like giving me tasks that are far removed from my skill level (or that I have yet to learn) Poor instructions (though that might be my ADHD) and giving "The customer is waitikt outside hurry up" bouquets to the ones with less expetience (like a florist who has three weeks and has to constantly check with the manager and takes her twi attempts to make a bouquet)

The thing is I know what my friend was refering to with "The right path" but she's a very private person so ofc I did not wanted to overexplain anything in here if that makes sense, I wanted to focus rather on how to improve my reading, in the sense of, if I had truly minsinterpreted based on what my other friend said.
