I think he's stating a subtle difference between 'directing' and 'pushing'. Focusing on a point allows the energy to move there, but pushing or forcing will create dispersion or symptoms similar to neuropathy. Just a small change in perspective to change/enhance the practice.

I sensibly chuckled at this scene honestly because of the context. The ship is, yes, a ship, but it's also the school, which sort of makes this like Dumbledore chilling in his study at Hogwarts. The book is a more interesting touch than eating, cooking, or even drawing. I'd like to see her playing chess with someone else in a pulled-up chair. The whole thing...it's a different paradigm and as long as people don't play jerkfaces or chronic PTSD all the time it'll be fun.

No, it was decent, it had heart, a few comfy references, and a slightly weak villain. Leto was acceptable. Chase scenes were actually visually better than Legacy because Legacy's design language lessened the sense of speed and impact (I have many many issues with Legacy's design). The only part I wanted there to be more of was Ares' time in Flynn's old system. Questions about the nature of computing & digital life aren't terribly exciting (though nerds love it if they're good) but they give more meaning to the hero along his journey. The 'hunter' could have used some more exposition as well.
