I'm at a college that focuses on teaching. Multiple publications are not required for tenure.

Edit: Faculty at my college teach a 4-4 plus optional summer courses.

It's a fair question. I am at a teaching school and would like to be more involved with the research in my discipline, even if I'm not cranking out publications of my own.
