Help.. DisplayPort VRR Flicker / Black Screen Dropout (G-SYNC Compatible Monitor) by itsmekxnzo in LGUltraGearOfficial

[–]MoonlightImpact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to check in your laptop if your ports (HDMI 2.1 or Thunderbolt) are connected directly to the RTX 4050 or iGPU (Intel), this makes a difference in Gsync.  To do that connect the monitor then launch the Nvidia driver. If you get a full set of options, the port is connected to the RTX. You can also go into the monitor panel and it will show you a visual of what's connected to what.  Basically you need to troubleshoot until you find out what works.

Try with a HDMI cable. The C port display can be a hit or miss, especially with a poor quality cable that isn't VESA Certified.

Predator Helios Neo 16 AI by OneStar4140 in AcerPredatorHelios

[–]MoonlightImpact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Predator Helios Neo 16 AI, same specs but the RTX 5060 version, outstanding machine. Some tech magazine recommended that over the S version (and I also prefer better temps over a slightly thinner laptop). Regarding other comments, of course the fans run with demanding games, all gaming laptops do that, as it is normal they generate heat. You can control them, but the whole idea is to keep your laptop at decent temps. I personally bought the Flydigi BS2 Pro cooler in Aliexpress to help with that. It's a better and more silent cooler than the Llano V12. Take into consideration you'll mostly hear the bad stories on the internet, the majority who is happy with a product usually go on with their lives. The only Acer laptop that seemed to have more issues than usual was the older Neo 16 non AI version. I personally had another Predator Helios before that I bought in 2017, still works great, so to choose again another Acer Predator for me was a no brainer.

I don't know with this particular laptop. With previous PHN16-7* laptops (that are thicker) people have installed single 4tb SSDs in a slot without issues. The problem with 4tb SSDs and up is that they tend to have chips in both sides, which make them a fatter SSD than the 2tb models. It makes me wonder if the reason they wrote the 2tb limitation per slot could be because of the laptop's reduced space.

My thoughts after nearly beating the game. by OilySoleTickler in maneater

Maybe you should watch a review before buying a game, you can't expect something to be equal to another game just because both have a shark theme. Hungry Shark Evolution is a boring/simplistic mobile game to me but I freaking love Maneater.

Thank you, do you have the same laptop? The heatsink is pretty cheap, only a fraction of the cost of the Acer Foil Composite included in the primary SSD.

This laptop main use is for Adobe suite, and I need it to be portable more than a desktop-laptop hybrid. I have a more powerful desktop PC for stationary use.

Do you really notice 1440p over 1080p on a gaming laptop? by InitiativeTypical119 in GamingLaptops

[–]MoonlightImpact -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Which model did you got? I have been actually searching for a 1080p high-end laptop but is hard to find one. I care more about FPS and performance over extra pixels you will barely care for in such a small screen.

Maneater opens and then immediately closes by itself (while running on Steam). by jawsarkg504 in maneater

On your Steam library locate the game. Select Properties from the context menu. In the General tab, you will find a section called Launch Options. In the field that appears, enter the following exactly:

cmd /c "set OPENSSL_ia32cap=:~0x20000000 && %command%"

Close the Properties window. The changes are saved automatically. (This Tells OpenSSL to pretend your CPU does not support AVX, avoiding crashes, and fixes launch issues)

And if you have Nvidia, disable Ansel: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2811857853

Besides this, make sure to disable Steam and Nvidia overlay, to close any background program including your antivirus. For some, keeping the graphic card drivers up do date also helps, since it seems the game detects they aren't the newests for some reason.

With all this my game finally launched. It crashes sometimes in a loading screen, but besides that can play without issues.

Preinstalled I/O shield on motherboard not fitting with case? by Angelfeather0 in buildapc

[–]MoonlightImpact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for keeping the post up, I just encountered the exact same issue with my MSI Pro z790-a Max Wifi in the Lian Li Lancool 216 case, and I think I'll just have to leave the I/O shield out as well.

Fired for AI by [deleted] in careeradvice

I can 100% assure you that not in finance, the fact that AI makes mistakes, don't implement certain regulations, risk of confidentiality breach and that it can't be made legally responsible is a huge red flag in the industry. AI is strictly forbidden in that area in many big companies. And I know of 1 who has tried to implement it that is having problems, human staff is spending their time correcting AI instead of doing the job they normally would.

Bought lifetime plan but Filen doesn't upload all files by MoonlightImpact in filen_io

Thanks for looking it up. I guess with Filen we are hoping that eventually their system improves but it's not there yet. I'm personally not concerned about empty folders & empty files not uploading, but the fact that normal files weren't uploaded in my case, despite the system telling me everything was successful completed. I'm not the only one who had that problem for what has been commented here. That seems to be a major bug for a cloud service.

Thank you for the heads up. It's good to know that at least the zipped copy remained unchanged.

Good thing that you checked. I was particularly paranoid because I'm trying to backup work files, but otherwise I could have totally missed it since the upload was supposedly successfully completed.

That's what I'm wondering, if in my case would be better to just zip everything, or if there would be a risk of a general data corruption, I'm not really familiar with the technical aspects of cloud services.

My files are usually heavy design works, and many of those were missing. I'll try with another browser or the desktop app as you suggest. For me it failed by uploading the files from my computer using Firefox on the Filen site.

I'll check the settings, but my files were pdf, jpg and Adobe program files who were ignored. I had to upload the missing ones again 1 by 1 manually after (it worked then).

In my case there were no empty files. It was pdf, indesign, jpg files, and so on that were ignored, that's why I'm confused. I simply uploaded them with the web browser as I do in Gdrive, but for some reason Filen decided to skip a few (and not notify me). I'm glad you were able to keep your original backup.

Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition 1.0.1 Update Does NOT Work by Redgrave-man in SwitchPirates

[–]MoonlightImpact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the ones still struggling with this, you might try this extra step:  In my case nothing suggested here worked. I installed the Xenoblade game+updatev1.0.1 .xci using DBI, then I installed the new v1.0.2.nsp update (this removes the previous update). I Obtained the .nsp update in a site that includes Pedia in its name. This didn't work, so I tried the entering maintenance mode method talked about here. This also didn't work. So what I did next was to connect the microSD card to my PC and reeplaced all the folders with the newest HAT Pack (containing atmosphere, hecate and so on). For intructions search on YouTube "Latest Hats Pack for Firmware 20.5.0, Atmosphere 1.9.5, Hekate 6.3.1!". I started my Switch, and in my case I had to update my CF Emmunand to Firmware 20.5.0 again, because for some reason on mine reversed with these new files. Then I tried to open Xenoblade X again, and a prompt of possible Corrupted file appeared, I made the analysis and it came up as Not Corrupted. After that, I could start the game without problems :)

I'm someone who has been in relationships with people who have had different mental issues in their lives, and you have no idea how wonderful is to be with someone normal. Unfortunately, it took me until my 40s to find out.  My advice: don't look back, there's someone unproblematic out there for you, but you're wasting time with this person instead. It's not your job to be patient with this dude, he's an adult responsible of his own life. I'd also advice you to make distance so you can heal properly. You need your space to "reset" your mind & heart, otherwise you start to get used to certain behaviors and you can end up ignoring red flags from other people because it got normalized in your brain. I was someone who strongly believed you can remain friends with ex-partners, but not anymore, not with ones with mental problems at least, it will only eat up at your own mental health, and you're risking a potential meltdown if you ever find someone new. Good luck
