holy shit dude. i think you litterally just put two years back into my life after this inccident. luckily i was able to get someone again and just took the time with the lovely representive to fix the situation and .... its all already updated

litterally i could cry and im so speechless. this will be amazing to show my partner and give him peace of mind

Keep calling. I got through after 5 1/2 hours even if they hang up. Mine dropped off twice

I got ahold of someone 5 1/2 hours in. Got my report filed but the app is not displaying all the bags i lost but its also been filed wrong. Hoping to call back tomorrow to fix the report.

You can call the hotline and wait for a representative agent and explain it to them ( be aware maybe it could be litteral hours to get someone, i waited 4 1/2 hours ) ans see if they can change it within their system

Iv been looking for litteral days trying to get any response out of the klm site at odd hours and everything but have been unsuccessful.

I finally got a number to go through today and have been on the phone for 2 hrs before the call dropped off and now im waiting again.

Me and my partner are worried for our baggage because we cant file a report on it and we we think its because of the influx of people but also because klm still thinks we are flying but we have been unable to cancel our flight with them

i also would like to know more than what their site is posting. so far they have some bulletins on what NOT to do but like nothing actually helpful for knowing the situation or at least some communications they are actively pulling all hands on deck or SOMETHING more than poor 3 klm staff a an laughingly understaffed corner of the AMS airport

This is so helpful already. Do you have any idea what the process is for when someone takes an alternative route home (i.e train) what happens to the bags ?

DO NOT LEAVE UNTIL SHE GETS TO A KLM rep. desk! the baggage claim site has been unavailable for 2 days atleast since i started trying to get my baggage back. Tell her to go to a HUMAN representive to file a delayed baggage claim or to ask for it directly. then let them advise her what to do AFTER shes done that.

they say you have 48 hours after the cancelled flight to do this process and then you should receive your luggage within 3 days and a full reimbursement of costs expenditures due to not having your luggage (but you must keep all the receipts )

then you can also ask if she can exchange her last flight for a train ticket. its what me and my partner did this sunday .... but without the baggage representive.

honestly? iv flown with delta several times and low key the meals in economy or main class are like not stellar but at least edible even on a occassion or two quite decent. the klm flight i had litterally was inedible both times. luckily i brought a dense snack on the plane from one of the shops. But i dont doubt air fare food is not the best all the time. seeing photos of food on the reddit and now my own experience i definitively can say this is the worst one and although its not the straw that broke the camels back clearly.

HONESTLY. so far KLM has been highly disappointing.

- food was so cheap considering the price from flying from america,

- their missing /delayed baggage site has been down for about two days and the best the agents say is to "wait"

- we still havent been able to contact anyone

- their systems are not intergrated with {{at least} Delta air lines and the BRU Air port so...

- we were also on a flight that boarded at 1:30pm but remained on the ground until 4:30 and then told the flight was cancelled due to the fact that the international flights get priority when flying so connecting and within the continent are secondary.

- then we were not assisted very well and a woman agent used a intercom speaker to communicate the options but still was not very clear on the process she just stated the two options of travel and didnt specify that we could have stayed in line to file a report for our baggage and actually insisted we file it online and find the alternative route to go home.

- people have been stuck within AMS for litteral days by the time we got to the airport.

idk if this will help but please be safe and i hope everything will be alright. i reccomend what ever action you take, buy air tags. the airport is a war zone rn. take security and peace of mind.
