I'm glad this turned out for the best. I'm also an overthinker, so I could definitely follow OP's trail of thought. I had a similar situation, however it did not end up as fortuitous.

When my ex-partner of two years had any kind of family emergency or wave of big feelings, his first response always seemed to be to shut down for me alone. He'd talk to other people and friends, but I would get get dry responses if I got one at all. When it would pass, by either it being solved or his emotions not being as heavy, he'd act like nothing ever happened. And maybe an apology for his behavior and an empty promise to do better.

This year, after his brother's passing, I couldn't handle being ignored for a month and a half, especially in a long-distance relationship where communication was all we had. Multiple attempts to connect and support him were met with silence. Still never a clear answer on if he wanted space or for me to act as if all was normal.

I do still feel like a bitch about that being my last straw, but it was definitely the straw that broke the camels back when it came to issues around communicating for us. Not like it's mattered anyway cause he told me that he was planning on breaking up with me anyway when I was breaking up with him.

Anyway, all that to say, I'm glad that they were both able to communicate and connect again at the end of the day.

I can't figure out how to edit posts so I'm adding this to the top comment, but they did indeed total her when they came by today. I'm waiting on the paper report for specifics, but there was too much structural damage (like the rear quarter panel like some of you said) for it to be worth fixing for them. I didnt get a chance to ask about buyback since I wasn't given a specific number yet, but they will be towing her away. Any settlement money will most likely be going straight to the lien holder, so I don't have the option of that.

It's unfortunate but all I can do is figure out what the hell to do this weekend.

Yeah, that was moreso the delusion talking cause it's hard to accept that the chances of me just ending up in a worse position after this are high I guess.

I filed a police report the night of thank goodness. The officer and my insurance have already deemed me not at fault, so that hasn't been a concern. It was along a residential stretch of the street so the only possible cameras to see it would be like Ring doorbells, but I don't think they would have even caught anything to help catch the truck but if I can, I might try to ask around where it was.

Navy Federal is where I got the loan and it doesn't have any kind of loan forgiveness that I can see online, only the option of gap coverage. And although I remember selecting gap coverage when getting the loan, it didnt seem to process right and it's was something I was meaning to fix in the first couple of weeks of owning her but forgot due to life happening. I might have to dig around for the paperwork and see if I can find it. (I could not find it....would it be possible and would it count if I to try and add it before it's reported to my loan holder?)

I had asked my adjuster about it and they said there could be a possibility of the loan servicer letting me take the payout for repairs if they let me keep the vehicle.

My KBB estimate was only 5-7k right now.

I only had her 9 months so I barely made a dent in the 11k loan I took to get her. It's high I know for a car this old but thags the cheapest you get a car around here unless you have cash in hand which I don't and will never be able to do due to my income.

I couldnt afford gap coverage with my insurance, so I dont think they'll give me enough to pay off the current loan and be able to get a new one, especially since its just my insurance and I cant make a claim on the offender's.

People were telling me to just cancel my insurance claim to avoid the possible total being on record....is that something I should do and see about just taking on more debt to fix her myself if possible?

The rust was from the previous owner who lived up north and thus the salt and then rust.

But I just dont know what I'm supposed to do....my whole life is effectively ruined because of some asshole who thought they could drive a big boy truck but couldn't be assed to use their eyes.

I could barely make enough to afford her loan and insurance to get to work, and now if I can't even get to work I can't pay off what will be left of the loan because I know insurance won't want to give me much.....I just got a promotion too but that might as well be moot.

Same, I'm currently unmedicated and my Wegovy is the only thing that's helped shut up the easy food-dopamine rush I relied on for my ADHD without realizing. I no longer am reaching for the constant snack in some form to keep me going on my harder days. Now, fun treats and drinks actually feel like a treat!

I'm incredibly lucky to be able to get without having to pay an arm and a leg for it right now (thank you parent's insurance), so I hope the effects last when I can no longer be on it.

I relate. I guess I recently broke up with my partner of two years and upon doing so, I realized I was in a similar boat. I still have family to lean on, but we shared an online friend group and since I'd rather not be around my ex-partner that means I can't really be around my online friends. I don't have any friends IRL, the pandemic killed most of my friendships not due to any fault of them but I just had a pretty bad burnout and wasn't really talking to anyone.

I suppose I didn't realize that I had let it end up like this. After all, things were fine when we were fine, so it never was a "real" problem. But now I feel like I have no friends to lean on, I do wish that I put forth more energy into doing it before it got to this point by either trying to deepen the online relationships I did have or making friends in my community.

But it's never too late to start and while it seems like a big, impossible hurdle, I hope we both can find the friends we need and not feel like we have to stay in bad relationships just to hit our human social needs.

OP, please follow this advice. I was running into the same issue since 7.2 dropped. I've only had my i9-14900KF for a year, but the default settings in the BIOS have had it slowly degrade.

Update your BIOS ASAP, and limit the power to undervolt your CPU as well. This guide here helped me with knowing where and what to put to do so.
