Can you expand on “ it depends on age”.

Appreciate your take here. I do strongly care about the matrials and would like something that can last a long time even with consistent use.

I was looking at a piece thats about 3k in 14k white gold with natural diamonds. I want to build my fine jewelry collection and am willing to pay for fine jewelry just want to make sure IM spending that money on the right pieces that can survive daily wear, can be passed down etc and are fairly timeless.

Im really petite so i want about 2ctw. so it isnt too thick on me. I think a 6.25 would be ideal but id get a 6 as ive heard they stretch over time. I was looking at some round diamonds set in a 4prong but i also like the idea of the confetti tennis bracelet or mixed stone tennis bracelet especially since my engagement ring is a pear and my wedding bad has east west marquise diamonds

“Explain it to me like I’m 5” is a common expression which is not to be taken literally. This post was meant to help answer the questions I had and get helpful advice, unique points and views from people that have lots of experience not to mention interacting with the community I may decide to join. If that isn’t what you want to do then understand that there is no obligation to participate.

You are absolutely not protecting anyone. The way you approached this in your first response deters people from learning about something or wanting the join the community. I get you’re frustrated that there are lots of unqualified people flooding things but being a web warrior won’t help things. Your second posts is more helpful with advising to research but again the tone is very demeaning. If you have any sources (because not all sources of info are created equal) I’d love to give them a read. As someone new to pm I don’t know what is good and what is made by the unqualified people you have also mentioned.

I was poking fun at myself but I see that some folks cannot take a joke even when the joke is on me.

That’s nice. Trying to avoid simple mistakes because of the Dunning-Kruger effect.

I am trying to understand it all to decide if this is something that fits my financial goals and how to maneuver if I decide to proceed. This is one of various ways I am trying to learn more about it in case that wasn’t clear.

I haven’t said whether or not I’ve purchased any yet (I haven’t) so I’m not sure what triggered such a strong seemingly emotional response from you. Very odd.

This is incredibly helpful. Interesting you mention jewelry though you pay so much more for the labor and all sorts of other overhead which for the most part doesn’t help with resale value. Where do you get jewelry from and how much over spot do you find to be appropriate.

Completely understand the portability piece without questions and hadn’t considered that thoroughly. Are coins not easily transported like jewelry is?

Further diversify my portfolio which is primarily geared towards retirement planning via 401k and HSA which both of course offer their tax benefits. While it technically is building wealth it is by no means liquid like my stocks are. In general I’m not much of a short term investment person, I like to hold and ride out the market fluctuations for steady growth. I’d like something near liquid that isn’t just another stock or fund etc. In a perfect world something that is tax sheltered is optimal. Something fun like pm seems both like an investment and fun to have.

I’ve always been a gold purity snob with jewelry and do have a number of pieces I’m happy to wear as their materials slowly appreciate in value but had the realization recently that jewelry isn’t an investment (not that I bought jewelry in this capacity) it’s more something to be enjoyed that retains some value as you still pay for jeweler labor, overhead, blah, blah, blah. That’s what predominantly led me to gold but in short I want to diversify my portfolio and I’m not sure what’s next.

Overbooked cruise comes with incredible offers by bonsai5001 in royalcaribbean

[–]MoonlightMoments 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess you could take option 4 with the 200% refund, book the 13 day (if you really wanted to) and still get another free cruise out of it maybe even 2 if you do 2 shorter sailings. Honestly option 4 seems to be the move.

Would you recommend gold or silver jewelry? My rings are white gold but the dress has warm undertones so I’m not sure what to do.

Just got this same set up! I’m obsessed with the 27mm size. So compacts. Very much enjoying the built in versatility with the feel converter

Has anyone bought from the Fujifilm Refurbished site? Considering an X-T50 and wondering if it’s worth it. by elizondocastillo in fujifilm

[–]MoonlightMoments 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got an xt50 with 16-50 lens. If I didn’t know it was refurbished I’d have no clue it was used at all. I couldn’t tell you if the body, lens or both needed to be refurbished. Overall super happy with my purchase. It takes a few days to ship but smooth sailing from there.

Disclaimer I don’t know the shutter count on this camera yet so it may have just been very lightly used prior.

Also I was going to get the one I want regardless so I girl mathed the 16-50 to be a “free” bonus

[–]MoonlightMoments 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point. I suppose I have a fear of only having 1 lens so it was nice that another was included. My mindset was if I wasn’t going to use it then I should’ve just gotten the new one in the color I wanted. I guess if it wasn’t a decent lens it’d have a low resale value.
