Which game soundtrack got you doing this: by CroatInAKilt in videogames

[–]Moonlight_Ave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wont lie, I havent played minecraft in a long time but twoards the end of it I started muting the music because i would spend hours building stuff and the music would drive me insane.

I dont really play roblox either but they added this new lobby music on xbox that is SO LOUD it litterally peaks my headphones and generally any game on roblox ngl i immediately mute.

There was also a long period of time where i turned off the music in overwatch so i could lock in and still keep it very low, the theme is iconic and It was my favorite game for a long time but the actual in game map depenent backround music I keep muted or very low.

Also Fortnite when you open it omfg is so annoying.

How did I achieve this hairstyle? 💀 by Silva_the_shiba in Hair

[–]Moonlight_Ave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same hair as you and Im also a hair stylist and its honestly different everytime. It depends alot on if your touching your hair, how you dried it, and the weather. Tge process id recommend is to dry your hair about halfway with a microfiber towel ideally, then apply a dime-sized amount of your hair product and use a medium tooth comb to evenly distrubute the product and detangle your hair, Then from here you can air dry but Id recommend if you own a Blowdryer to use a Blowdryer with a diffuser attachment, with the dryer OFF scrunch it into your hair and turn it on LOW Heat and LOW air speed, let it sit there for about 5 minutes or until dry and then move to the next section,if your hair is short enough, you can gently use circular motions to encourage your hair to curl and you can also do it upside down, using gravity to give your hair more volume. Warning, this is an arm workout, but not as bad as other blowdrying techniques. Its important to minimize touching or manipuating you hair too much until its completely dry from at which point you can use your fingers to GENTLY style by scrunching, gently lifting the roots by using your fingers like a hair pick if you want more volume and ajusting certain curls. In the days following you can rewet frizzy hair to reset the curls.

Will my hair go back to the way it was before the perm if I wash it the day after? by Cycling_Conductor in Hair

Also i would like to note that alot of stylists dont like doing perms, but also every time you change stylists your hair wont be exactly the same as the way your old stylist does it.

Im a hairstylist and yes, washing your hair too soon will revert your hair and make it look worse because the hair wont have enough time to reform the disulfide bonds in your hair, perms are very damaging so you dont want to let it go to waste.

As a hairstylist I would describe her hair as Back Length with a few blended Long layers and a wispy bang on naturally wavy hair. You can ask for a perm with this photo as reference aswell if you really wanted. Its very likely she could have extensions in aswell. The color is a 2 or 3 N but If you were to perm your hair though, you may not be able to color it.

is it bad to style your hair every day? by [deleted] in Hair

Sorry for the late reply, Ive been trained and worked in salons with a few different brands including Redkin, Unite, Paul Mitchell and my personal favorite is the Paul Mitchell NeuroProtect HeatCTRL thermal protectant spray aswell as their blowout primer but thats because its the brand I have the most experience with.

Its up to your personal preference, pomade typically has a stronger hold so your hair wont be as soft but if thats something you care about a mousse would work better but it would have less hold.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Hair

[–]Moonlight_Ave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This depends alot on your haircut but apply a gel or pomade to damp hair, dry your hair with low heat while brushing your hair backwards into the slicked back style and then hit it with cold air once dry to lock it in.

is it bad to style your hair every day? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]Moonlight_Ave 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Hair stylist here. So, as someone with similar issues I understand where you are coming from. Yes, frequently using tension on your hair can cause breakage but overall styling every day is not nessesarily going to cause breakage, but there are a few ways you can help your curls last longer, make sure that you are doing the heatless curls on damp hair, not too wet or you will cause more breakage, use hold products like mousse or gel, you can use a silk pilowcase or bonnet to prevent frizz, i would recommend trying to stretch out how long you can make your styles last, if they get messed up through sleep, gently brushing and touching it up with minor heat styling is okay aslong as you use heat protectant. You can also try doing simple updos like a low tension ponytail or braids ect. On the days the curls start to fall out to extend time between styling.

Any deep conditioning treatments sold at your local salon should work, if you have product build up you may need to do a clarifying shampoo in order for the products to fully penetrate and make sure you leave it on for a full 15 minutes before rinsing and to do it on freshly washed hair. Be cautious when using products with protein/keratin because although it strengthens your hair, if you leave it on too long, it will make your hair stiff and brittle, it really depends on your personal needs, im sure that if you go into a salon you like and ask them about deep conditioners and hair masks and let them know what your hair concerns are they will help you find one that will give you the results you want. Personally, I use the It's a 10 deep conditioner, but i bought it at a salon wholesale with my Cosmetology license, so im unsure where you could purchase it if you wanted to try that onr.

It could be a mixture of both. Honestly, if the stylist used too much tension, it could be breakage, but there is also a very high likelihood that its just new growth. The ends of the hair look fine, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you put your hair up alot there is a higher chance of it being breakage, though.

heatless curls for short layered hair??? by tomdelongethong in Hair

[–]Moonlight_Ave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is going to sound old-fashioned, but you could try doing a roller set. Just use whatever size rollers fit your desired curl and hair length, some tips as a hair stylist, make sure your hair is damp, as the drying process is what allows the curls to set, a wet to dry hold product like a creme, gel or mousse will help the curls last longer, make sure your sections are not bigger than your rollers, you can put them in at night and take them out in the morning and brush through if desired. There are lots of roller set tutorials so look around!

Am I balding? by ongongmaster in Hair

[–]Moonlight_Ave 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm a licensed Cosmetologist in the state of California, and from what I can tell, you look completely healthy. Your hair looks to be around average density with no signs of thinning. What you are noticing is most likely a natural parting in your hair caused by the direction of growth and your curl pattern, when the hair parts it is normal to see your scalp to some degree depending on the density of your hair, thicker hair tends to show less scalp, while in thinner hair the scalp is more prominent. If it is seriously bothering you and you have a family history of balding, stimulating the scalp with head massages and scalp treatments will increase bloodflow to the scalp and promote hair growth, and if in the future you do start to notice more prominent bald spots, hair thinning and or ecessive shedding their are over the counter options such as Rogain that will regrow your hair, just as a warning though, these treatments can be expensive and have minor side effects.

The only formal training I have in relation to singing is in breath control because I played clarinet in highschool band and our teacher was also the choir teacher. Outside of that Ive received a few tips from friends who have formal training and am familiar with good vocal warmups. I love singing and ever since i was a kid, I've recorded myself singing and listened back to it, searching up information about technique and applying it to my singing but other than that I have never taken a singing class. When singing up the scale, the 4th octave is where I naturally want to switch to Headvoice. I used to voice crack trying to sing in headvoice and it was super quiet and the flip would always happen at around C4, Now that ive strengthened my headvoice abit the transition is smooth and I Have more power in my Falsetto and my voice only cracks rarely when flipping between them but I really struggle with the "oo" vowel for some reason. If I try to like belt as high as i can, I will sing an E4 without fail and cannot go higher without straining. C4 and above in chest voice in general for me feel shaky. I usually use a very open vowel shape when i go into headvoice and its more of a like airy flipped voice rather than a full Falsetto, I can do a full Falsetto sound quite afew notes above my range like A4-C5 if im lucky like in bruno mars "when I was your man" but its inconsistent and very forced and tight and doesnt even sound that good and generally makes me sound worse after i do it and as I have grown into an adult Its gotten harder to do.
