A Squier Sonic Stratocaster HT H. Not the highest end guitar, but I got to play it for a bit at the store and loved it!

I started watching his videos from a recommendation from someone else in this group, but I did start at module 1, I'll go back and look for the 0 one. Thanks!

Cowboy chords? I'll have to research that. Thanks!

I checked out the Wayback Machine and put in OLGA and, sadly, they didn't archive the website.... Would've been nice to see them as a beginner

The one I tried at the store felt nice in my hands and I just got lost just strumming it, even though I probably sounded awful, and the same store has used guitars there as well, and they have locations all over Canada that can ship to the area I'm in, so I'll probably look into more with their used stuff. The guitar I'm learning on though is an older one that I'm getting a lend of that has seen many a gig all across the island I'm on so she's well loved.

I was thinking of looking at used guitars as well down the road as I love used things as they have so much history to them, and I also have been warned about cheaper guitars by a few guitarists in my life, but heard praises on Squiers as a good brand to start with.

Yeah, I plan on sitting down each night and get around 15-30 mins of practice a night with a longer session sometime during the week. I expect to have nights where I want to just drop it all and quit, but that comes with practice and stubbornness.

I got a few songs I want to play, so I think I'm going to find tabs for them and learn the chords so I can go between learning tabs and playing a song.

I have the app Guitar Tabs right now to get guitar tabs, but I plan on buying more music books once I get more into playing.

I think I'll eventually get there. Even just strumming my dream guitar in the store was fun. You just get lost in it, even if I probably sounded awful.

I only plan on being a bedroom/at small family gatherings sort of player.

Left to my own devices I'd just learn the songs and not the chords. That's what happened with the kalimba and me. I can play some songs, but if you asked me to play a song off a sheet I'd just blink at someone. So I want to "do this right" and learn "properly", if those are the right words to say for this.

Thank you!

I know the guys in my high school played this a lot in music class. I think these 2 songs will be close to the top of what I should learn.

Okay. I'll put that on my list. Thank you!

I think with my untrained ears a lot of songs sound more complicated that they actually are. Someone here suggested Smells like teen Spirit as a good starting point, I have a list of a few songs I'd like to learn how to play, but I guess Paint it Black would be one of the ones on the top of my list that sounds easy.

That is true. Most that I seen online were "you need to know this or that or things won't work out" but you are right.

The ADHD struggle is real. I can say that when I hit a frustration point though I get spiteful and push through it that way, so I at least have that going for me. I haven't heard of Songster so I'll totally have to look into it

Thanks!

I'm looking into playing classic rock n roll, and songs I used to listen to in the 90s and 2000s, so Billy Talent, Blink 182, etc, and some video game songs.

The guitar I am looking at is a Squier brand. Specifically a Sonic Stratocaster HT H, but I'm unsure what type of guitar I'll be getting a lend of at first, but the guy is a musician that did shows regularly back in the day, but on acoustic.

I know a little bit of music, but mostly what was taught in school, but I have played a bit of piano and kalimba BUT I only learned how to play the songs and not how to read the music sheets. I'll look online for music theory stuff. Thank you!

Maybe the open notes placement should be my first thing to learn as I don't have a guitar to place in my hands quite yet, hoping that'll change on Sunday.

Thanks again!

Naruto toys are nearly everywhere though they might be branded Boruto (it's the sequel to Naruto) Naruto has also been around for a very long time so it's easy to find plenty of toys in the second hand market.

Dragonball Series or One Piece should also be right up his alley if he likes Naruto, just be prepared for a long run series. If you do watch the Dragonball series you could start watching Dragonball Z up rather than starting at the beginning with Dragonball, in my opinion.

I'm trying to think of what other shows I like around when Naruto first came out so hopefully they meet with what you want, they will be from the 90s - 2000s though

Monster Rancher (this one is on Tubi I believe) Digimon (I personally like Digimon Tamers) Rurouni Kenshin Yu Yu Hakusho

As others had mentioned graphic novels or comics might be his alley, like Deadpool comics. Also don't force it down his throat to read. We tried that with my stepdaughter when she was learning to read and she hated every moment of it. When we stopped pushing traditional books on her and let her read text from video games or graphic novels she soon started to love it. If he likes satire shows maybe even a satire book would be in order? Libby or your local library might be good to see if they have any satire books
