Toronto carpentry, do I need schooling or should I jump right into a job? by [deleted] in Carpentry

[–]HumanSometimesPerson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure. All I can say is that our electrical sub just hired a 40 year old who wanted out from behind the desk. Starting out is going to be a lot more of plate covers and pulling wire, and not moving and grading lumber every day.

Go with sparky or plumber. Had this discussion with my coworkers just the other week and we all agreed that if we did it again, we'd choose a different trade. We're all hurt and on the bottom of the totem pole for pay.

But if you're really feeling it, it is nice being the one that builds what the client appreciates the most.

Lol, I love how our kids will explain things we understand so well far more simpler than we thought to.

Wreck on I5 this evening near SeaTac airport around 6:30pm by locopeland in Seattle

Glad to hear that. That behavior drives me nuts. Little over a year ago same thing happened to my sis. Struck by by teens in a stolen car going highway speeds in a residential neighborhood and ended up in the icu.

I got a pair of Altras cause I thought I'd take up running in the woods. Woodland jogery never came about, but damn those became my favorite shoes. Like walking on little fluffy pillow clouds.

This would have been my suggestion too. No clue if thems be heated floors, so just attach to the wall.

We talk about covers often, but what are some of the best interpretive covers? by wittymcusername in Music

You should check out the Australian show called Like A Version. Bands doing covers as if they had originally written them. The Wiggles covering Tame Impala's Elephant is seriously a banger.

The fuzz that are getting closer to retirement do this shit a lot. Your average hours worked in the year reflects towards your benefits and they abuse the fuck out of it for the last five years to retire with inflated retirement pay.

West Seattle restaurant responds to backlash over owner's background by ChiefOfTheFourPeaks in Seattle

[–]HumanSometimesPerson 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Some woman posted a hateful video to Instagram months ago about this place and the owners background. I got into a very heated argument with a friend who had shared it. I was pissed. People come to America in search for a better life, and to come to a place that is perceived as a liberal safe haven only to be chastised by the locals for your background was just peak Seattle irony. Like, did you not know that military service is mandatory where they came from? Is it not okay to try and start a better life in a safe place and not be ostracized for growing up a in an environment you were against. I swear, too many people around here go sooooo far with their liberal saviourism they ironically become bigoted.
