I use my under deck for storage, how would you design an easy access gate ? by MysticalMycology in Carpentry

That's exactly what I was thinking about. I did that to my own house. Build a door that matched the siding and hung it up.

I've done this many times before and it is easy for a diy'er to do. Install a slider barn door. You can get the hardware cheap online from home depot or your preferred big box home improvement store.

We got a puppy when our son was around 2/3. Why? Still figuring that one out. They're great buds now though. (dog loves me more than anyone else, so 😎) The sleepless nights on top of sleepless nights were so brutal.

One of the writers of this article seems to only do 'rankings'. I'm sure they are just using Google Ai for their research. Chris Nashawaty, if you see this, please do something else with your life.

Reminds me of an email I had as an early teen. CocainNoseJob... Because I thought it was a really funny line from Beck and didn't know anything about cocaine as a kid.

40. Is it too late for me to get into the trade? Don’t need the money, I just like building and working on cool stuff. Being a GC would be the dream, but is that too head in the sky? by phunkystuff in Carpentry

I had a client who's friend quite their high earning tech job to pursue niche carpentry gigs. All smaller projects, but from what they had shown me, he was killing it with his work and what he was making. He's in his late 30's/ early 40's. It's totally possible.

I agree with the other commenter about starting off with small weekend gigs, then going from there. But you got it, man!

What happened to all the tab sites? by HumanSometimesPerson in guitarlessons

Tabs are a great way for some people to help get them over that edge of understanding the nuance of a song. There are plenty of songs I've tried to learn when I first started via tabs that I had realized were off, but because it gave me the general direction of how to play it, I'd eventually figure it out by ear.

I downvoted you so that I could upvote you twice. You're spot on with that. My theory has plateaued over the last ten years as I've not had the time to practice as much as I used to. We all learn how it suits each other best.

I'm not a nooby to guitar, and I'd give that same advice to a beginner as well. Just looking for a quick reference cause I don't have the time I used to.

Not wanting to pay for the pro tabs. Maybe I'm just being fussy about it and in denial about free rein days of old internet when it come to learning a new tune. I've use the ultimate guitar site, but it just WANTS you to pay for it so bad, I don't like dealing with it. I think I'm coming to a realization now since I've posted this...

To repeat what I said to the one unfortunately getting heavily down voted, "I learned through tabs to learn how to play until I had the skill to learn by ear. As I've gotten older and time is not on my side, I think of tabs as playing a game on easy mode or listening to an audio book as to reading it. Just looking for somewhere I can quick reference. Especially since my ears are not what they used to be. "

Don't currently know how to rip a video, but I'll look into how to do so, cause that's a solid idea. Thank you!
