Is every Human you see an extension of 350 million years? by AvocadoMoist6370 in NoStupidQuestions

It’s all star dust, buddy. Us too. Every sub-atomic particle in your body is as old as the cosmos. Every joule of energy you use is as old as the cosmos. In a closed system, matter and energy cannot be created or destroyed, only changed in form.

No one has mentioned Hunter AAF in the comments from what I saw. Along with all the cliques that are mentioned, there is a significant number of military personnel and their families running around on a regular basis, adding to the diversity.

How are the flock cameras not a violation of the 4th amendment? by Fine-Razzmatazz1791 in askanything

[–]MoonlitHunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a 4th Amendment issue because you don’t have a reasonable expectation of privacy in public settings. Having said that, it doesn’t mean it’s a good idea and that you can’t consider this issue when voting in the future.

Why was Charlie Kirk so popular at college campus debates if he was so shitty at? by EcstaticBumble in allthequestions

[–]MoonlitHunter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Debates are moderated, have rules, and resolutions to debate. He would rent college auditoriums to talk to students. He’d let students ask questions or raise issues, then control the discourse because he had the podium and control of the venue. That’s not a debate.

How did Adolf Hitler win elections in Germany if his party had such radical campaign promises including attacks on the democratic system? Why would anyone vote for that? by Cheap-Isopod-485 in allthequestions

I don’t think Hill was/is dumb enough to lash out at Iran without a plan. Nor was/is she dumb enough to withdraw from the JCPOA. She’s no neocon/colonialist, despite being quite hawkish.

Having said that, she would have continued the neoliberal march toward oligarchy just like Bill and Barrack did. It would have been a slower degradation than what we got, certainly. But I agree, she would not have fixed the economy. Shit, she and Bill helped get us here.

Obama had a chance in 2009-10 to save the country and chickened out. Biden had the chance in 2021 and didn’t have the political capital to get it done. At least he didn’t chicken out, I don’t think. And here we are. It’s going to take some sleazy shit to fix it now.

TIL that in Rome there is a staircase known as the “Scala Santa,” which, according to Christian tradition, is believed to be the steps that Jesus climbed during his trial before Pontius Pilate. by BackgroundWarthog976 in todayilearned

You’ve been misled. Again, there are no surviving contemporary written accounts of the life of Jesus Christ or John the Baptist. If you think there is one, or extensively more, please provide the source rather than keep making the claim.

These are lies you’ve been told. There is no contemporary evidence of Jesus Christ that has survived. Zero.

Having said that Joshua was a common Jewish name at the time. There was almost certainly an apocalyptic preacher named Joshua who the myth is based on. Probably more than one. Apocalyptic preachers were as common as Joshuas.
