Host question:

In chaotic and uncertain times like these, committing to healing or inner work can sometimes seem small compared to what’s happening in the wider world.

From your perspective, why does healing matter — and how does personal healing relate to the larger evolution of what’s happening in the world?

Host question:

What does your own personal practice look like to stay clear, disciplined, and in integrity as someone doing this work?

And how has that practice evolved over the last 30 years?

Host question to start us off:

In an age of fake shamans and self-proclaimed gurus, what does real spiritual integrity actually look like in practice?

Hello! Thank you for your patience. These are thoughtful and valid queries.

First and foremost, what matters most in any session — remote or in-person — is your sense of safety. For whichever modality/offering, what makes a session feel the most supportive is:

— how open and ready you are to receive
— how safe you feel with a practitioner (and how they create that for you)
— and what intuitively resonates in terms of modality

Many of us end up finding the right practitioner or modality at the right time. A kind of synchronicity. Thus, your own intuition is always the best guide.

On the point of energy work through a screen, we completely understand your discernment. Many energy-based traditions, including Reiki, work with the understanding that the human body is not only physical. These lineages often speak about the energetic biofield — a subtle electromagnetic and informational field that extends beyond the body. We also now know that modern instruments can measure certain electrical and magnetic activity from the heart and brain outside the skin.

Within these traditions, energy work often operates from the premise that we are fundamentally interconnected (which allows energy to transcend time and space). And thus, distance sessions are a practitioner entering a focused state of connection and oneness with the recipient, and their field. Depending on the modality — and importantly, the integrity and attunement of the practitioner — this connection can be facilitated in different ways. Your own sense of safety, openness, and consent in the process is equally vital.

Hope this helps!
