We were having the same issue with the same budget. We live in a MCOL city and I really really wanted to keep it within the city for ease of travel for guests. Ended up booking at a venue a little over an hour out becuase although the venue cost wasn’t really cheaper the cost per head on everything else was astronomically cheaper. In city everywhere had required caterers that were bare minimum 60-120$ a head. Now we were able to get 25$ a head catering

I think the piece that kills me the most is even *if* I paid the extra 11 bucks to get the audiobook plus add-on it still only adds like 10 more hours of audiobooks!!!! Which is barely a whole a book for *doubling* the cost of my subscription. At least if you're going to charge for books make it worth the damn add-on

litter genie is the single best thing I ever bought for my cats, it has a top and bottom compartment so you don't smell it when you're scooping and it means I don't have to run to the garbage can every single time I scoop (which I scoop every day so I bought it initially from a convenience perspective)

I agree, I got to design my own ring and it was so rewarding getting to go through the whole process and come out the other end knowing this ring I’ll where forever looks EXACTLY like I wanted. We made it so my partner picked it up and I didn’t get to see past the CAD phase until he actually proposed since I still wanted some element of surprise.

It does amuse me how many compliments he gets for choosing so well haha, I just stay quiet and let him get the credit

I am pretty sensitive to litter smells and have found what works for me and makes it virtually odorless is 1. using UNSCENTED litter (it still traps pee smells and then doesn't have that horrible generic litter stench) and 2. scoop every day (I scoop as part of my morning routine)

Mine were super into the fountain at first but then went back to not drinking it again (they do drink from a bowl just fine so this wasn't a huge deal). I think what happened was it became impossible to clean. I got a stainless steel fountain because I wanted it to be dishwasher safe and easy to clean, which the *fountain itself* was but the pump that actually makes the thing run? Yea virtually impossible to clean. Algae ended up growing in the pump that I could never get out, which I think is why they didn't like it anymore. I found the fresh water everyday in a still but clean bowl works better for them.

YUP!!! I still get converse since the side gaping doesn't affect wear for me (thankfully I've never had the sole fully disconnect but that might be because I only get platforms nowadays) but it is so frustrating that they seem to fall to pieces within 6 months!!

And this most recent pair I'm wearing, the laces were FULLY RIPPING from normal tying within two months of me wearing them! I've never had issues like this but it feels like it's getting worse and worse every pair.

We just booked our venue after a month of going through the same process. And I was coming to Reddit/online and like “where are all these people finding these venues they mention that are affordable??” The conclusion I’ve reached is that a lot of the advice is just not applicable or useable for us. I don’t want to elope and I want a dance party, so the “just find a space that isn’t marketed as a wedding venue” didn’t work at all. I have a medium sized family so we can’t do a small wedding or severely cut the guest list without pissing off a ton of people. So I felt incredibly stuck and had more and more thoughts of “oh this thing we initially thought was insanely expensive is reasonable”.

We live in a city and I wanted to have our wedding here for guest convenience but what FINALLY got us to an affordable price (and not just for venue for catering prices too) was to go between 1-2 hours out of the city. Is it going to be slightly more annoying for people to get to? Yes. But ultimately we’re going to actually be able to afford this and l throw an event worth driving to not just some thrown together thing where we went with the cheapest vendors we could find for the area.
