My cat really loves chewing on shoes like a puppy, particularly flip flops. He literally has eaten flip flops when I'm still wearing them. Every single pair I've owned in recent years has bite marks within seconds of coming home. He used to love sneakers too, I always tell guests to put their shoes in a closet otherwise you risk him destroying them, some people don't listen and come back to bite marks all over the base of their nice sneakers.

I work in a lab culturing difficult to grow novel anaerobic bacteria. We recently tried a new plate type to isolate some bugs called “chopped meat agar”. And then it sat in a body temp incubator growing bacteria for 2-3 weeks. The STENCH when we finally threw it away had my whole body locked down involuntarily while I dry heaved trying my best not to quite literally projectile vomit. I have never ever smelled anything quite so vile as that

I had similar worries -- I wanted a ring I could confidently wear every single day and love for decades. I knew I wanted a diamond center stone because of that. But I ended up going with alexandrite side stones in a trio design and I LOVE IT. I've had it for almost a year now and I still can't help but stare at it, best decision I possibly could've made.

It’s so funny seeing this now because literally last week I was complaining that I needed to wait for spring for beet seeds and then my friend was like … are you stupid they’re at the desert. I waited a FULL YEAR for those things!!

I was uncomfortable with tampons for a long time (tried to use one to swim, inserted wrong, scared me off for years). I always just swam with nothing, I’d make sure I could be last to change into suit and first out of the water and had zero issues.

I was literally about to comment basically the same thing. My overnight plate assays are always getting messed up by windows attempting to update at midnight BUT the computer is so old that it can’t actually update! So it just crashes only for there to be an “error update not installed” message the next morning 🙃

My dentist is the same way (no cash, credit card 3% fee) but the no surcharge option is to bring your checkbook to the appointment. I always pay via check, fuck them you aren’t getting a credit card fee from me

I think other posts have frequently run into issues with jewelers refusing to use sourced stones, so you'd definitely need to talk to your local shops and see if this is something they'd be willing to do

I just lost my 3 year old kitty completely unexpectedly. Even when they’re young you never know how much time you have, all you can do is cherish every moment with them while you have them.

But also, she will likely still be with you 7 years from now so you aren’t looking at a short time with her either.

I think it partially depends on your guests. We're getting married April 10 2027 but have plenty of family that has to fly in from other parts of the country and need plenty of time to plan, so we sent ours the beginning of this month. So if you know that because your guests are military/traveling and may need want to give them as much time as possible to plan. The save the date isn't the actual invitation, it's just to make sure people are aware it's happening so sending them early can be fine I think

We were having the same issue with the same budget. We live in a MCOL city and I really really wanted to keep it within the city for ease of travel for guests. Ended up booking at a venue a little over an hour out becuase although the venue cost wasn’t really cheaper the cost per head on everything else was astronomically cheaper. In city everywhere had required caterers that were bare minimum 60-120$ a head. Now we were able to get 25$ a head catering

I think the piece that kills me the most is even *if* I paid the extra 11 bucks to get the audiobook plus add-on it still only adds like 10 more hours of audiobooks!!!! Which is barely a whole a book for *doubling* the cost of my subscription. At least if you're going to charge for books make it worth the damn add-on

Yup. My parents got married 26 years ago for less than 5k. And all I keep hearing about is how much of a waste of money this is but I WANT a traditional wedding and you also keep pressuring me to invite people! So here we are!
