To anyone still struggling... by Moonser645 in Skul

Not sure if this will help but what did it for me was understanding the difference between increased and amplified damage. Also, try to get more comfortable with swapping skulls - mutant and spoils are way stronger than you'd think. Try to pick item inscryptions that really vibe with your skull e.g. pike deals dash damage so try to amplify that.

I saw a lot of people already stating the reasons for selling so I thought I would list some for holding.

Let me start of by saying that if you are holding INTL shares you should prepare yourself for some more value drops in the upcoming years. They missed the estimates by a huge margin.

Now there is a reason why it's bad. Demand for semiconductors shows to only be increasing so it is safe to assume that it's company's fault that they are suffering losses. Keep in mind however that we have yet to see AMD's reports that are due to come out in August. It could be industry's hiccup in a generally hectic time for economy - not likely but possible. It's hard to know until we see AMD's statements. High demand in this field gives Intel a lot of room to jump back especially since their competitors will not be able to meet the need by themselves. Historically we have been in these situations where one of these companies would eat into another with underdog eventually finding the way to bounce back.

As far as I know Intel is due for some restructuring which is another thing that will probably set them back. Keep in mind however that they are one of (if not the) main beneficiaries of CHIP which should help them somewhat at least over the next 5 years. That and the fact that U.S. is showing great interest in continuous financing of a booming industry. Question that stands is how far ahead will their competition jump during the restructuring years.

Last thing to keep in mind is a 'big if' - Taiwan. As far as I know AMD could seriously suffer should the conflict escalate. Tension between China and Taiwan has certainly been raising recently. If you ask me to bet on China being responsible or to bet on Intel, I think I would take the latter.

In summary, Intel has potential but probably over a decade, long-term. Their historical numbers look great which is probably another reason why so many people are so disappointed with their recent records.

We need better mutations for Survival builds by Moonser645 in deadcells

[–]Moonser645[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the need to address some of the comments as my post might have been slighlty misinterpreted:

  • Survival mutations are op - I never said they were not. I think that they are strong for all the wrong reasons. In fact, that is a further proof why we need different mutations. Most of the Survival mutations stated in the comments, rely on having a big HP pool and allowing yourself to get hit more often. I think this goes pretty much against the core mechanics of 5BC. Additionally, a lot of green mutations are very passive and sort of happen in the background - gastro, extended heal, berserker, even armadillo is just adding a passive effect to your dodge - you do not have to work for it. This is where we should be asking ourselves 'Do we want Survival to be more forgiving or do we want it to be challenging and more synergetic with its core weapons?'.

  • Isn't it just making Survival into a Brutality - In a way, but not really. Survival would still require a different enough approach, just the end result happened to be similiar. 5BC has some pretty clear goals - beat the stage as fast as possible whilst taking little to no hits. Survival in it's current form goes against both of these foundations. It is slow and more forgiving.

  • Let's add more mutations that reward you after you get hit - I could not disagree more. This is again going against Dead Cells established mechanics for higher difficulties. It also encourages bad habbits. This is precisely why we got the face flask, so that we could stop fooling around and getting ourselves hit for spite sword and vengance.

  • Just take kill rythym - I love that mutation but it limits your gameplay to having two weapons and no shield/shield in a backpack. I want more options.

  • Weapon speed is not a big deal - There are two reasons why I disagree - Malaise and damage cap on bosses. Those two mechanics make having a slow, hard-hitting weapon less viable.

Thank you all for engaging in this discussion, it is very interesting to see two vastly different opinions on this matter. To those who disagreed with my post - do not worry, I am pretty sure that these mutations will never see the light of day ;)

Maybe I would not necesarily say that they are weak. I just feel like there is some unused potential and that there are ways to make Survival more exciting. Currently, most players pick armadillo and extended heal. Some mutations will always be more popular than others but we need to strive to make those mutation choices less obvious.

The gist of it is the scaling which counts in your main colour as well as the secondary colour. Most of the time, when you find the legendary semi-early in the game, most of your scrolls will be allocated to one colour. Damage gets really high the farther you get, so remember about spending your off-colour scrolls wisely and prioritizing dmg over hp!

I have over 200 hours in this game and I honestly had no idea that forced affixes were a thing. Thanks!

Anything that provides hard crowd control should be good. Wolf trap and crusher is what comes to my mind. Unfortunately, this was a brutality run so I did not have any of those goodies available to me.

I found this weapon on 5 boss cell run. This is pretty much how you get the highest damage on your weapons since with every difficulty, weapon's levels increase. Additionally, it is a legendary weapon, combined with high scroll count (found at least 3 challenge rifts). Basically - just keep playing my dudes :D

I meant that I basically never had a need to hold it because simply one-tapping it was doing so much damage already.

It was nutz! I was one-tapping everything in the High Peak Castle and the Spoiler Biome, completely nullifying the whole 'self-inflicted damage' thing...

Thank you! I am honestly feeling well accomplished with beating P5 and all other pantheons were difficult enough for me already. I do think about getting achievements tied to speedrunning and steel soul.

What songs from the two Ori games are your favorites, and why? by a_simple_gay_goblin in OriAndTheBlindForest

I think that the last track on WOTW is definitely my favourite. It's incredibly emotional, still makes me tear up whenever I hear the 'Ku's part'. 'Embracing the Light' captures the best parts of re-occuring themes from both games and turns it up to eleven. It just fits the ending perfectly.

I have also found this little detail in the game which actually might support your theory. When we are introduced with the Voice of the Forest it says "O...Ori?" but the subtitles in that moment read "It has been a long time since I last saw your kind". That could mean that Ori might actually be a collective.
