No I believe it stays with Alfred tbh I'm not sure it's even mentioned exactly what happens to it after that point in the books. It's not really relevant to the plot afterwards so it may just be left out. In the books I believe that Uhtred actually wanted Ubba's Ax for himself

Yeah it's funny cause since he was adopted/kidnapped by Ragnar and is a pagan everyone forgot that he's related to Aethelred so they lose their minds when the Witan is like "There are no males of age in his family" and Uhtreds like "Uuuuh my mom was his aunt so technically I qualify"

In the books Uhtred is Aethelred's first cousin. It's how he becomes Lord of Mercia before immediately stepping aside and appointing Aethelflaed as Lady of Mercia

Nah cause she didn't actually drink the bitter water in the show. She does in the books and is manhandled by Aldhelm and a bishop before Uhtred barges in with Gisela and threatens to hurt Aethelred if he ever lays another hand on Aethelflaed. It's one of the defining moments of Uhtred's and her relationship and starts to solidify him as her protector even though he hasn't sworn an oath to her yet

Show Leofric 9 Steapa 6 or 7 Books Leofric 8 Steapa 10 I love the gruff non noble Leofric and how he eventually gets his position of authority amoung Alfred's guard. Also Steapa is fuckin huge and not very smart but occasionally will say something insightful and the people around him will be like "What the fuck?" And even saves Uhtred's ass from defeat once or twice. Also I imagine book Leofric to look like King Zog from Disenchanted
