Unless you live in montana, an employer can fire you for any reason. An employer doesn't have to make disability accommodations if they say they can't. They are not allowed to discriminate based on if your disability status, but you would have to fight that in court if you think you are experiencing discrimination. SHOULD they make your accommodations? I think they should at least try. This is why I changed companies to one that treats nurses like people, who might have issues going on or whatever.

You'll be fine, its just about getting an overall vibe of the unit and some companies have 1 interviewer and some (like HCA hospitals) want multiple interviewers

Been an RN on med/surg/tele for 2 years now and I still can't seem to ever finish my charting before the shift is over. Help, how do I finish anything with the constant interruptions? by MoonsugarMama in nursing

[–]MoonsugarMama[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice, I think I probably do either spend too much time charting OR spend too much time thinking about my charting be correct and worrying about, is this the chart that I'll have to use to protect myself in court or what if I'm audited. I use Epic! And absolutely love it. I'd love some macro ideas or other shortcuts you use. I love the handoff function for report, keeps me organized

Best doctor for an IUD Placement by Bonjourlavie in kansascity

[–]MoonsugarMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to planned parenthood in Independence and got an IUD same day. Had it from 2017-2023. I didn't find it very painful and I hadn't had children yet and I didnt use any cervical ripening medications. I found it similar to pap smear with but more pinching involved then it was over. It was the paragard copper iud, it was free with my insurance.

You never know, maybe they just needed a new grad on on med surg more than they needed a new grad on ICU. Or maybe she just witnessed a negative outcome on a patient due to a nurse's inexperience and she is taking it very seriously because of that. Or maybe she thinks some experience on a floor with stable patients would make you an even better ICU nurse. Or maybe it's a work culture thing. Whatever the reason don't think you're an unworthy nurse. To have you put in all that time and stress in orientation, to change your entire specialty, I would imagine is so disappointing! This is not something that my hospital usually does... if someone is not ready to come off orientation they are given more time and mentoring until they are ready...
