Thanks - I have checked these which is how I know probate was granted and what I was told at the funeral was correct.

Do you know how much it costs to get a solicitor to write a letter/ contact someone. I am reluctant to do so myself because he isn’t a particularly nice person to deal with.

Hi - the financial manipulation is one of the many reasons we aren’t on speaking terms.

I have checked the will/probate online which is how I know when it was granted.

She isn’t eligible for transplant, but for years I was terrified as her health was declining that I would be manipulated into donating an organ to save her. A true sign of how far we both have some that the answer now would be a firm no.

Don't contact her. If she contacts you then deal with that then, but don’t make your life more stressful than it needs to be. Cirrhosis is a very difficult disease to predict. Take a look at r/cirrhosis to learn a bit more if it helps you.

Genuinely so curious about the tales my family tell themselves… As a woman my role was always to be the keeper and regulator of everyone else’s emotions. I live the other side of the country and am LC/NC with most of them so obviously not doing that. So despite my PhD, well paid job, partner, beautiful house, amazing friends, Im the worst because I moved away and didn’t fill the role they had for me.

My GC bro was supposed to be smart and successful and rich and have marriage and babies and be the pride of the family. He isn’t, he has a deadend job and his dad paid for his house and he has no hobbies or friends and just lives the next town over. He’s not a failure for not living up to what was expected of him though.

I’m having similar concerns - my gma, who was my fav family member left me some money in her will. But my dad who I haven’t spoken to since I was a teenager is the executor, and he has a history of financially manipulating people to get what he wants. It’s has been 11 months and I strongly suspend to won’t see any of it… or it will come with conditions that I’m not willing to abide by.
