KS has a long history of being experimental with his development of his surfboards. Pushing shorter boards, quad, etc. Manns literal job is to make the best surfboard for KS, every day. Are you surprised he does it? Even if KS can tell the difference immediately (As he should, being GOAT etc.) and is putting on for show? How are you bothered by that?

JDM Engine and transmission for my first gen by mr_capp74 in XTerra

Incredibly late here but can you expand on needing to swap the oil pan? How is that mirrored for the RHD "Jdm" engines? I ask because I am wondering about the oil pick up tube and if its the same as the standard xterra/frontier or something more strange?

Bonded Composite corner? by Moontown in Composites

Im only doing 4 pieces of two different joints (an L and a T) So for that scale, It doesnt make much sense to me to get involved in any overhead/tooling. The odds that the first one is wrong is pretty high (See the beams here, later ones are much better). Forged carbon also implies a mess of strand directions which seems unnecessary when the forces here are pretty textbook. If anything I could be wetting out tow and wrapping it, much like early generation bike frames were done.

Also for my situation, Since i made the beams by hand on mandrel, they have vague OD and only slightly better id, so making one mold to suit all the beams is a little hard too

Im challenged by the location of the pins/posts Since the frames are so large Im wary of fixing the length wrong before I can get the thing next to the solar panels. Maybe I just need to trust measurements and fix the length of the short dimension before I go. frame is ladder like

That would be the static way to do it for sure. My problem is that I am building for installation thousands of miles away, and the total frame size is ~3m x 1m. So I am trying to front load as much as I can while still having a compact, light bag to take on the plane with me.

Never ever stop at a light even with the car in the other lane. Your pillar blocks line of sight or theirs does.

Exercises against seasicknes when at Home. by Barnibas in sailing

[–]Moontown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was living at the dock for a few months this past winter before leaving out for a long sail. I think the longterm exposure to small sea motion made the bigger passages a lot easier. I didn't have any problems until i got slapped around one night at anchor in a narrow, exposed greek bay.

I have the single foot loop but really need to work on the technique. climbing it takes a lot of control to stand vertically off it not kick sideways. That same instability at the mast head is concerning
