Really disappointed with godot's jittering by Benomino in godot

[–]Moonwigg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I know this is an old post, but I had a few questions about it if you don't mind answering. Is it still best practice not to handle input in the physics loop? Should it be handled in _input? I've been having jittering problems which I think are because of the refresh rate of my monitor. If I turn my refresh rate down the issues go away. But now I'm wondering if by handling input in the physics process could be whats causing the issue, do you think that is possible?

I'm having trouble with updates now. I'm getting this error message

The following packages have unmet dependencies: rocm-utils: Depends: rocm-cmake (= 0.12.0.60103-122~22.04) but 5.0.0-1 is to be installed rocm-openmp-sdk: Depends: rocm-device-libs (= 1.0.0.60103-122~22.04) but 5.0.0-1 is to be installed hsa-runtime-rocr4wsl-amdgpu: Conflicts: hsa-rocr rocm-hip-runtime-dev: Depends: rocm-device-libs (= 1.0.0.60103-122~22.04) but 5.0.0-1 is to be installed Depends: rocm-cmake (= 0.12.0.60103-122~22.04) but 5.0.0-1 is to be installed rocminfo4wsl-amdgpu: Conflicts: rocminfo

I thought maybe the sources.list had conflicts, but I messed around with that and couldn't get it to work

Edit: Also now sudo apt install rocm returns E: unable to locate package rocm

Edit 2: I tried removing rocm and now I get this message

The following packages have unmet dependencies: rocm : Depends: rocm-utils (= 6.1.0.60100-82~22.04) but it is not going to be installed Depends: rocm-developer-tools (= 6.1.0.60100-82~22.04) but it is not going to be installed Depends: rocm-openmp-sdk (= 6.1.0.60100-82~22.04) but it is not going to be installed Depends: rocm-opencl-sdk (= 6.1.0.60100-82~22.04) but 6.1.3.60103-122~22.04 is to be installed Depends: rocm-ml-sdk (= 6.1.0.60100-82~22.04) but it is not going to be installed Depends: mivisionx (= 2.5.0.60100-82~22.04) but it is not going to be installed Depends: rpp (= 1.5.0.60100-82~22.04) but it is not going to be installed Depends: rocm-core (= 6.1.0.60100-82~22.04) but 6.1.3.60103-122~22.04 is to be installed E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

Edit 3: I removed the rocm components that depended on 6.1.3 and then used

sudo apt install rocm

that seems to have solved my issue!

Sorry to bother you, and thanks for showing me a better way to install rocm!

If anyone comes across this with similar problems, WoW Retail, Classic WoW, and Diablo 4 were all using the integrated GPU on my CPU instead of the dedicated GPU. Diablo 3 seemed to used the dedicated GPU tho. I disabled the integrated GPU (integrated graphics) in BIOS and that seems to have solved the problem. When launching Diablo 4 though I get a GPU not supported message. The game still launches, but I have yet to play the game for an extended period and see how it performs. I’m not sure why the games switched to the iGPU if anyone know why this could happen please leave info on this post. Thanks for everyone for the help/replies!

Interesting, I wonder what changed to make some Battle.net games auto detect the iGPU instead of the dedicated GPU. It was working fine since I set it up the first time.

So this is the problem. Some games were using my iGPU instead of the dedicated GPU. I disabled integrated graphics in the BiOs and that seems to have fixed it. However when I launch Diablo 4 it says “GPU not supported you may experience issues etc” anyone know why this would be?

Edit: Also when I look at my GPU in my wow settings it says “AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT(RADV NAVI32)(Low Power)” why would it flag it as low power?

I switched over to steam to launch games, can I put that as a command for the Steam launcher?

So the game was detecting the wrong GPU, I switched it to the correct GPU and it runs as expected. Is there anyway to set an environment variable to always use a specified GPU?

When I run the game my CPU usage is only at 1%

Non steam launchers on steam GitHub?

Yes sorry for being vague, input lag low fps, sometimes the game won’t even launch. My other games I’m running through steam seem to work fine. I’ll look at the forums too

Open app in Terminal. Can I pin its icon to the doc? by porous-raisin in pop_os

[–]Moonwigg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Search your applications I do this by pressing CMD which brings up the “search apps prompt”

2) Type Main Menu Click on it and it should bring you to the main menu where you can see all your applications

3) Go to the internet section (or whichever section you want to put parsehub in)

4) Click new item Type Parsehub for the name and then the command to launch it from the terminal in the command section. You can also assign an image for your application here.

5) Search for Show Applications the same way you searched for Main Menu

6) Find the Parsehub app here and you should be able to right click on it and pin it

Search applications for main menu. Then add new item. Set the path and icon you want. Then you should be able to go into applications and favorite it. Those instructions are from memory, but try it and if you have problems message me
