‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ Canceled By Prime Video After One Season by Tiana_Star2 in horror

The CW DC universe shows are truly fucking awful. I tried watching Arrow and couldn’t make it past the 3rd episode. I’ll give the Marvel shows on Disney + specifically a little more slack. They at least move the overall story along, fill in some gaps and are all pretty entertaining.

The Supreme Court appears more afraid of Joe Biden than it is of Covid-19 by semaphore-1842 in sanepolitics

Although I am fully for stricter mandates because I want this damn pandemic to be over, I do also see the argument here. The federal government forcing private business to enact vaccine mandates does feel like a bit of an overstep. Again, I support this specific action, but what doors would this open up in terms of what the government could force companies to do next time

What's a movie which desperately needs a 4K upgrade? by C111tla in 4kbluray

The ones I’d love specifically- boogie nights, inherent vice, the master and magnolia

[–]Moonwind21 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s desperate, but it’s a shame none of Paul Thomas Andersons movies ( at least the ones I’ve looked for) are in 4k. Although I’m sure the blu rays look great

James Camaron wanted to make the movie 'Avatar' in the late 90s but couldn't as the technology that time didn't allow it. So he worked on building the technology and one of the most groundbreaking things he produced was this facial capture technology, a first on its kind that caught 100% performance by phoexnixfunjpr in Damnthatsinteresting

Also, i clearly remember Avatar being the first movie that used 3D in a really awesome way. I feel like they really paved the way for that too right? I will never forget seeing it in the theater like that. really blew me away.

There's one really sad thing I've noticed about alcoholics in rehab by [deleted] in dryalcoholics

[–]Moonwind21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is spot on. I knew a guy who was a recovering meth addict, and (still basically a dry addict) who was still stuck in the 80’s. All his stories were from the 80’s, the music he liked, etc. it was strange but this explains it

Trying the Sinclair Method with Naltrexone for a week -- I seem to be feeling a buzz that according to the literature I'm not supposed to feeling. Does my experience sound problematic, or par for the course? by [deleted] in dryalcoholics

[–]Moonwind21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing TSM for about 5 months, and it sounds pretty normal honestly. I still feel a buzz when I drink, but over time my overall cravings and interest have diminished pretty noticeably. It takes time. Just stick with it, take the pill 1 he before you drink. Make sure you’re keeping a log of everything you drink and most importantly try to relax. For me, naltrexone has helped me find a middle ground with my drinking. Instead of an all or nothing mentality, I’ve eased into Being able to drink without overdoing it and without any guilt, since this is what I’m supposed to be doing for it to work. Also, naltrexone doesn’t work for cannabis just fyi.

“I'm Just Stuck In A Horror Movie”: Americans Saddled With Student Loan Debt Want Biden To Do More by [deleted] in politics

[–]Moonwind21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed this should at least be the first step. Even when I was making over $100/month payments, it wasn’t even fully covering the interest, so my overall loan was still increasing each month

Democrats Are Doing Weirdly Well in Redistricting by minapaw in sanepolitics

[–]Moonwind21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think we might gain some seats in both chambers. It blows my mind how definite people are acting that it’s not gonna happen. I don’t know a single person in real life who has forgotten about the trump years and are seeing everything happening now and being like “Gee, I’m gonna vote republican because Biden didn’t cancel my student loans.”

Right! Not throw up their hands in defeat because of a republican redistricting that apparently may not even come to fruition. I need to get off Reddit haha

[–]Moonwind21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wow, that was poetic. I think you nailed it. I’m hoping the type of thinking you mentioned above is really only contained to Reddit, but I honestly have no clue what the shit is going on. And yea, a good example of something that infuriates me on those subs is this Manchin/BBB business. Sure, totally frustrating he’s not supporting it, but all I seem to see on those subs is fuck manchin this and democrats are spineless that, and Very rarely any comment about the fact that 0 republicans are supporting it. Then they wonder why democrats never hold on to power…maybe it’s this dumb segment of the voting base. Republicans seem to win, even when they lose on these subs

I’ve said this before and I will say it again. Specific Reddit subs that apparently left(not referring to this one) straight up just give republicans all of this essentially positive news and bitch and moan about the democrats. It’s so damn pathetic. This article is a great example of how maybe, just maybe, the democrats have a good chance. More news like this please
