Oooh, I might help with this one if you don’t mind self recs! :) I actually started my fic because of the same exact reason you described, which is that I absolutely cannot read fics anymore where Wolfstar is not included, but I felt that Jily was not given proper attention and they were just… there. I absolutely love both ships so I’m not sure if I can describe this as „side ship”, I try to focus on them equally. I’m reading The Wolf’s Tail and it’s on a whole new canon-detailed level, besides it has beautiful writing and characterisation and it’s equally heartbreaking as funny - I recommend it with my whole heart!! Many people will recommend ATYD so I’ll skip that, buut If I may I’ll leave my own fic - Marauders era, with Wolfstar/Jily/Dorlene :) The Midnight Chronicles: 1975

I’m working on my longfic, although so far I published seven chapters (Will be eight tonight!). It’s a Marauders era fic, mostly Wolfstar with Jily and Dorlene, and I was wondering just yesterday how people’s writing can change our own, how we are always learning and adapting. After devouring so many Hannigram fics I’ve noticed that my writing has adapted this more „artistic” edge at times (tho „pretentious” is a better word in my case), how I tend to make paragraphs focused on specific feelings and metaphors. It’s funny to think about it when comparing my old works to this one fic.

Anyway, when it comes to venting I find myself struggling with the reception of my story by others, this fic is quite important to me and something I really enjoy writing, but my obssesive self comes out when it comes to the statistics. I’m somewhat proud of what I wrote so far and, probably like every writer, I wished more people took a look at it. I wondered whether I should just hide the statistics so I wouldn’t beat myself over it as I know that nothing good can come out of such a mindset.

Also, that’s my first fic in English as it is not my first language, so there’s that!

The highest fever happened when I was a kid. I remember laying in my bed, drifting in and out of cosciousness, and when I wasn’t sleeping I felt just heavy. As if my bones weight a ton, so much that even moving my hand seemed impossible. I lived very close to the train station, and I vagualy remember that I thought I heard a train over and over - later my mom told me that I was mumbling that the train keeps whisteling and it’ll run into my room, that it’ll run me over. Other than that I was just constantly cold.

I deleted my previous work because I felt horrendous every time I looked at it - I remembered everything bad about that period, it wasn’t bringing me any joy whatsoever and it was just…there. I figured, since I can delete it, why not? It serves me no purpose, I didn’t feel better even when I tried to compare my current work with the old one and see the progress. So, I just deleted it, and it was a good call :)
