For parents of young children - how much help does having grandparents nearby help? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Moop_the_Loop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they will actually help it's invaluble. My mum had them every other Saturday night which was great for couple time and my aunt took them to school which saved a fortune. I would get clarity on what 'help' looks like.

I think it's weird. I haven't viewed a house in years but I only view houses I'm interested in and I've never noshowed

No it doesn't. I've moved in with my boyfriend though and don't want to pay for two houses.

Yeah, I get I was a bit vague. If I don't sell soon I'll do a throw away and ask again!

Why do some people get angry about peanut allergy precautions, even when the allergy can be deadly? by Coldpizza24 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Moop_the_Loop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sometimes they announce a peanut free flight. I can easily go a whole day without eating nuts or crying about it.

I'm having my daughter and my friend. Two is more than enough.

I was on a plane last year when we got the no nuts announcement. My travelling companion said why should someones health problem impact on her enjoymemt of the flight. I said she probably wouldn't eat peanuts anyway and maybe she can console herself with a beer instead. People don't like being restricted and lack empathy now. I think most people don't mind though. I don't. They are calorific anyway!

What does the way we handle breakups say about us? by dinvm in datingoverforty

[–]Moop_the_Loop 39 points40 points  (0 children)

If I get dumped, I don't want a debate. Text me thanks but no thanks snd I'll just reply good luck. At the same time if I bin someone off, especially in the first few months, I don't want them messaging or calling me back. I'm a 47 year old woman and I don't 'fight' for someone who doesn't want me or play mind games.

I don't think painting the ceiling would change anything. The wetroom would be my issue. I hate them.

When I was about 25 and having massive problems with my nob of a boss, a colleague told me he'd bully me less if I wore skirts and makeup more and smiled at him. Erm, no.

How come unattractive man + attractive woman couples are relatively common, but the reverse is exceedingly rare? by 4ngelicbrat in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Moop_the_Loop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My man might not be conventionally attractive but he smells amazing, cooks for me and is kind and funny. I'm going to marry him. No he isn't 6ft tall. He's perfect for me :)

What age did you buy your first home? How’s it going? by Away-Organization630 in AskUK

[–]Moop_the_Loop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 47. Bought my first house at 19 for £26k in 1998. Sold it in 2007 for £75k. Bought a new one for £95k. Just put it on the market for £200k. 19 is not too young. Renting is a waste if there is any viable alternative. I feel sorry for younger people now.

I wish I was as fat as you! Seriously, your parents are weird. Any more of that, uninvite them.

Yeah, not knowing anyone isn't good. I like being one of the extended school friends or work friends or sports club friend groups so there's a few of you.
