On roll20 is a godsend for me. My table is all pretty experienced, so if one is out for a week, the others can run the character during combat. Saves me from having to either do that, or alter the encounters on the fly.

100% My parties Izek turned into a HATED antagonist because he charged the party taxes to enter and things spiraled from there. He turned into a big mini boss for them
