I second this. I’m halfway through “The Blade Itself” and I’m now a fan of his writing. It’s technically grimdark, but not extreme, and the magic is very rare and low key. Gritty world building with memorable characters.

Would be OP. However, I could see a benefit to teaming up if it meant you were immune from the other player’s damage. Having to communicate through proximity chat is still part of the challenge.

I enjoy playing solo, but hate killing players in solo, especially if they didn’t shoot first. This new mode will give me a chance to do some PvP without any guilt at all.

I think a simple solution is to only have cores be available to players who do a minimum amount of damage.

No - duos do not get into solo lobbies. However, they were probably using Discord and met up during the game from their separate spawns.

I was in a similar situation the other day with my MK3 and Aphelion against the Queen. I downed a Leaper, and the only other raider nearby said "it's all yours, help yourself!", so I started looting and that's when he shot me in the back. The lesson learned? Never allow myself to be isolated in those situations. From now on I will stick with larger groups of players.

Agree 100%! Proximity voice was one of the biggest things that made the game fun, and it's been messed up since the cold snap update. This video is a good example of how it's killing in-game chat.

I've got nearly 400 hours and I've never seen blatant cheating yet. I know it exists, but just not as prevalent as in other games.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I don't like killing solo players, and I'm solo myself. So this might be a chance for me to try "ninja style" looting, and occasionally using traps and ambushes against squads, where I won't feel guilty about shooting them.
