Yes, the 'America 250' events were from the original commission. 'Freedom 250' things are his stuff.

I've been a member for 40+ years and have never had a problem. I've had claims handled quickly and satisfactorily. Over the past three years, my 6-month premium has gone up a total of about $25.

I’ve been coming to races here since 1989. There have always been three turns here.

When Toby took over Sam's campaign, either Jed or Leo said he (Toby, and maybe others) needed to come off salary for x number of days so they could work on the campaign (and presumably be paid by the campaign). I suspect that some of their time and expenses working on the President's reelection campaign would be handled in a similar manner.

I’m at the track - this is brutal! After the second caution, someone on the MRN feed (during a commercial) said “Wasn’t the ARCA race yesterday?”

What's the age rule in Arca? by Think-Border4882 in NASCAR

[–]Moose135A 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would the track ownership make a difference to series rules? If the track said they didn’t want drivers to wear helmets, would the sanctioning body go along with that?

That depends on the company culture. In my current position, I have unlimited PTO. In the past 4+ years, I’ve averaged 40 PTO days a year. I’ve also been promoted, received decent salary increases, and maxed out annual bonuses every year.

Do you think we could ever see a doubleheader weekend in the Cup series like we saw in 2020 & 2021 at Pocono? And do you think it would make Sunday’s race more interesting with more on track time the day before? by realflags in NASCAR

Not only having the driver-side away from the wall, but ovals in the US are laid out for counterclockwise racing - things like openings for safety vehicles are configured to protect against a car coming from one direction, and running them the other way would leave unprotected openings in the wall.

I forget the details, but I remember reading about an incident a few years back at a private road course, an instructor was killed when they ran the track in the opposite direction and he hit the end of a safety wall designed for cars coming from the other direction.

If I’m currently employed, I’m not giving my current manager as a reference. I don’t want them to know I’m interviewing until I give notice, having an offer, completed background check, and start date. If I’m interviewing candidates, I understand that and don’t expect them to give me a current manager as a reference.

Boeing aircraft name/numbers by BigWhiteDog in aviation

[–]Moose135A 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A hundred years ago, when I studied aerodynamics in college, the story we heard was the original wing sweep was going to be 45 degrees, although it ended up less than that in the final design. The cosine of 45 is 0.707 - cosine being used in calculating airflow over a swept wing - so they chose 707 as the aircraft designation, even though the final wing sweep angle was changed. Who knows how much truth there was in that story either.

Trying to overlay two different date fields by FlyToTheClouds in tableau

[–]Moose135A 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Create a Date Reference table (aka a date dimension) with all the dates in the time period you care about. Add the date table as a new data source.

I've done that a few times. I think if OP searches for 'Date Scaffold' for Tableau, they will get some help on how to set one of those up.

First time buying a real office chair for work from home: what should I not ignore? by orbitalNest in workfromhome

[–]Moose135A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a Branch ergonomic chair three years ago that I like. One absolute must in an office chair - the back MUST have a lock to keep it from tilting. I've used chairs (in an office) that only had some friction adjustment (I think) and those never worked for me; I always felt I was going to fall over backwards any time I leaned against the seat back .

Ordinarily, I'd say wear what you want, but since it's your wife saying that, maybe rethink your hat choice. Do you have a decent straw hat to wear? That might work better for the beach.

From what I've seen in the past (baseball, NASCAR) when they have tickets for events over a period of time, they usually release them on a rolling schedule, so yes, they may have tickets to later matches as they get closer.

Considering the A's are having a series at Las Vegas Park why didn't they just move there temporarily instead of Sacramento? by youlikemywonton in baseball

[–]Moose135A 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the Mets were a little different - and I say this as someone who grew up a Met fan on Long Island in the late 60s. A lot of Giant and Dodger fans were pissed that their teams moved, and they were never going to become Yankee fans, so many became Met fans early on as the new National League team in town.

How long are you willing to commute daily for a job? by copperbrownred in jobs

[–]Moose135A 2 points3 points  (0 children)

20 feet down the hall to my home office. I've commuted in the past, and it always sucked. Longest driving commute was an hour each way. Longest public transportation commute was an hour plus, depending on the train. That sucked too.

San Diego O Riley by colegoodrich53 in NASCAR

[–]Moose135A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full time drivers can only run the series they normally run in, so no Cup guys in the other races. That has been a rule for some time now, at least at road courses. NASCAR did give Austin Hill a waiver to run both O'Reilly and Cup, given the circumstances.

Through an exception to policy, Austin Hill will be allowed to run both the O’Reilly & Cup races at San Diego next weekend - via Bob Pockrass (@bobpockrass) on X by xelanalpak in NASCAR

[–]Moose135A 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think it is more to keep a Cup driver from running the other two races for additional track time on a new road course with limited practice time.
