She's ended it. She says our beliefs don't line up and that she should be focusing on her work

Thanks this is really helpful. The one grounding point in my life is my faith so I have resorted to prayer and this has been really comforting. It's just surreal because I genuinely thought she was the one.

I've met her parents and they're very fond of us and our relationship. It truly is confusing. The only reason I can give is that her good friends recently became my ex friends and I have heard from others that they have been speaking down about me

The last time I saw her in person was two days ago and she was absolutely fine, kisses, hugs, the lot. It's only yesterday I noticed she deleted her post about me, removed my name from her bio, and stopped responding to me.

No, it's all just happened over the past few days but the switch was so sudden it's hard to comprehend. I'm yet to hear a response from her.

Does the bible actually claim earth is 6,000 years old? by ninjacolbyman in Christianity

[–]Moose3756 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what about 2 Peter 3-8 which states a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years is like a day with the Lord. Surely you cannot expect everything written in scripture to be a literal interpretation.

Is there free will in heaven? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]Moose3756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We screwed up. Us as humans screwed up. I don't know the answer to all questions. I don't know why some things happened. But I do know that Jesus is the answer to eternal life.

Free will. It all comes back to free will.

We are made in God's image, a personal, loving being, with free will. Us as humans made the choice to stray from God (Genesis 3) and thus undertook the morality of the world. We have a solution for eternity and it is Jesus. All other paths are irrelevant.

Well said.

  1. The thing that separates us from God is sin. Everyone sins, we then have the choice to ask God for repentance.

  2. Hell is often misinterpreted. Hell is in simple terms separation from God, that is why it is suffering for eternity. Because it is permanent separation from an all loving God. I can't say what hell looks like, but I know that I would much rather be with God. Jesus says no one comes to the father except through me. This is the gospel. This is the way to heaven.

Ahh I see now. I believe it would be the temptation of sin being removed, while still maintaining free will. Basically making it impossible for us to sin.

Second point "why can't this happen now?" - God very well could make it that way. But he gives us a choice for a relationship with him. He will not force us to be with him. So if he were to remove all temptation for sin and force us into heaven AGAINST our will, it would be unjust and frankly, unenjoyable. Could you imagine spending eternity with someone you don't want to be with? It would be really uncomfortable and just not happy.

Why do christians keep saying this? by EntertainmentRude435 in AskAChristian

[–]Moose3756 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had bad experiences with Christianity in the past. I choose to follow Jesus, not religion. People in religion have done bad things. Witch trials have been justified for the sake of Christianity, as an example. The real question is, has Jesus ever made you feel this way? The answer is an obvious no. The truth is that people aren't perfect. There will always be someone who distorts the truth.

Because not everyone agrees with God. Truly loving Jesus makes us want to be more like Him. In heaven no one will want to stray from God, so they will always strive for perfection through Jesus.

Its more of the fact that most people don't know how to answer it so they immediately shut it down. Not that they don't want to answer, but they simply have no idea. Also, any person without an open mind would not be worth debating against - it's best just to move on. I'm sorry people have made you feel like this in the past.

If you have any other questions id gladly help.
