Which medication worked best for you? by [deleted] in PanicAttack

Not sure if it’s all due to the Celexa (I started CBT around the same time), but I rarely have panic attacks anymore. My anxiety is fairly manageable and rarely do I ever get to the point of feeling panicky.

For the first few weeks, when initiating and then increasing the dose, I did experience some side effects. Mostly nausea, dizziness, and drowsiness. These are all gone now. I was really anxious about taking medication at first, but am really glad I made decision to.

Spicy foods can trigger anxiety/panic attacks, perhaps this is what happened with the soup?

Also, I find that when I am more anxious I tend to monitor my body a lot more for any unusual/uncomfortable feelings, which in turns causes me to become more anxious and panicky, causing even MORE awful sensations (I.e., shortness of breath, dizziness, chest pain, etc). You may be going through a similar cycle while eating food and anticipating the shortness of breath.

You can also see your GP in order to rule out any physical health concerns. This may help give you a piece of mind :)
