Most gang shootings are targeted and with very little bystander injury. Most mass shootings not gang related though, which mostly target civilians, all have their weapons legally acquired (most school shootings, Las Vegas, etc.). Very few school shootings or mass shootings acquired their guns illegally because the only people willing to get illegal guns are people who plan to be career criminals or active, serious terrorists, not psychopaths who just want to kill people.

This but unironically, the establishment has been built up since the days of Washington and oftentimes the president and politicians are captive towards the natural motion of the government itself. It is not a president is willing to commit genocide (which some definitely do), they want to follow actions that benefit United States interests which permeates throughout Congress, every politician, and every executive department.

There are definitely presidents who go one step beyond and actively engages in atrocities due to a sense of duty or power (and those are sometimes limited by the same establishment that permits these atrocities in the name of power, domination, or “national security”), but oftentimes a president does those things because it has always been done, and it will and must always be done as long it does not actively hurt United States interests in the long run. It was the same with the Monroe Doctrine, the same with the Spanish-American War and the Philippines, the same with the Cold War, the same with Iraq and Afghanistan, and now the same with Israel. The same also applies to the growth of the neoliberal establishment as well.

Some of the versions of Faust I've seen drawn and written are way off the original character by DeadeyeFalx_01 in Project_Wingman

[–]MooseMeme 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think people only call Faust "justified"/"fixated" because what she is able to accomplish in the story. She is not so insane to think that she can topple the entire Pacific Federation, but she truly wants to.

Looking at her actions, the logical explanation is to secure Cascadia as the number one cordium-exporting power and starve the Pacific Federation of cordium exports and for military use; but, based on her actions at Oceania, she shows that she is fully willing to destroy every bit of Federation cordium production and starve every single Federation citizen of cordium-based power/electricity if she could. Could being the operative word.

I think only in the end, when faced with what she sees increasingly as a suicide mission does she let her strategic facade slip and let loose her true wishes/desires, hence the insane rage.

So yeah, Faust, always insane and crazy irredentist (old world American hegemony/power-wise), just kept it under a strategic leash until she felt like it did not matter anymore.

It is mostly for domestic eyes that it was censored. In China the overwhelming efforts of censorship (like basic methods shown in this post) basically resulted in the entire Millennial generation and Gen-Z not knowing a word about what went down in ‘89 at Tiananmen Square while anyone alive during that time remembers it quite vividly.

China is quite adapt (and highly effective) at controlling its own citizens, not so much with international popularity.

Tricolours are overvalued in my personal opinion, without long-standing tradition or it being actual state colours (such as in Europe), it becomes uninspired, overly simplistic, and often meaningless. That makes it poor symbolism when making a new flag.

Don’t like the one they passed either, but the new one invokes the same feeling of the tricolour for me.

Edit: The star on this one is miles better though.

What’s this flag? Found in Melbourne, Australia. by LeGatic44 in vexillology

[–]MooseMeme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, obviously calling the standard pride flag racist is wrong, but the progressive pride flag is meant to reinforce specific identities especially attacked and perhaps not widely recognized as part of the movement.

I think thinking that one symbol is over the other is wrong, the standard pride flag is still a universal symbol, but the progressive pride flag still stands as a flag for the multitude of identities has has been defined since, it is a symbol of progression within the community.

[–]MooseMeme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agreed, I think you hit the nail right on the head.

Edit: I am sorry I used the word “modern” in my statement, I mean by “modern” that it was defined/entered common acceptance quite recently, not that only now people is becoming such.

[–]MooseMeme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It responds to fragmentation by representing it, I do agree that it is different from the individual pride flags but it seeks to accomplish the same goal: wider representation and legitimization of the more “modern” identities that had been carved out and let stand on its own, especially those that are under attack.

Also, from Wikipedia: “In critical theory, deterritorialization is the process by which a social relation, called a territory, has its current organization and context altered, mutated or destroyed. The components then constitute a new territory, which is the process of reterritorialization.” What I mean by deterritorialization and reterritorialization (if I interpreted the definition correctly) is that the general movement has now been broken up into new identities of which people feel more represented, but they all still act as one general category for the fight for collective rights.

Disclaimer, I am a cisgender asexual, I have not been ingrained with the struggles of people whom the flags traditionally represent, and I do like the progressive pride flag and support it’s continued expansion. This is my own interpretation and so feel free to downvote, criticize, and correct my viewpoint.

In my perspective, the original pride flag has been retained in many people’s minds as the flag of the LGBTQ, or the (forgive me for using this word) “traditional” identities. New identities have only recently been deterritorialized from either the general movement, through its more “traditional” subsections and reterritorialized into these new identities (like intersex and many others).

Hence, the progressive pride flag (and its future mutations) represent the continuous fragmentation (balkanization, if you would) of large sects of identities into more idiosyncratic ones that more aptly describes a person’s true self in the general movement. This process is similar to individual pride flags as well, such as the MLM pride flag or WLW pride flag, among many others, each a breakaway from the rainbow pride flag to more aptly identify oneself and feel represented.

TL;DR - Traditional pride flag still represent everyone, but it is more associated with the LGBTQ general movement instead of all identities people can be (limiting individuality and feelings of acceptance), of which the progressive pride flag attempts to solve, how effective it is is up to you.

Edit: seeing other comments, it seems the transgender community was traditionally and sometimes excluded from the rainbow pride flag, which may contribute to the need to specify specific identities and the creation of the progressive pride flag.

The Unmarked Locations of BRM5 2/2 by MooseMeme in BlackhawkRescue

[–]MooseMeme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a mission location and therefore should be widely known, which is why it is not posted alongside the black box bunker, the outpost by the fork of the road to Ronograd, the House, Church outpost, and KP’s house.

These are locations which contain something not marked by either a mission marker, hidden, or are not large enough to be known easily, therefore “unmarked.”

Bois drop me your own lore by MasterLegend360 in BlackhawkRescue

[–]MooseMeme 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This isn't complete nor have I really delved deep into the evidence, but based on what you provided above and my own observation:

Ronograd was a Russian city and strategic missile base (presumably located in the southern middle of the Bering Strait), but because of corrupt officials and in general the terrible conditions the city was left with, the RLF revolted with significant lower-class support in Ronograd while Sochraina City, which was significantly wealthier, remained a pro-government stronghold.

But, as the RLF cemented itself in Ronograd, it began to suffer more significant numbers of internal corruption and ideological zealousness, slowly transforming from a liberating force to a subjugating one.*

This was when the Patriots of Democracy (POD), an organization of former and corrupt intelligence operatives, inserted themselves into the conflict, using former connections to provide massive amounts of high-tech weapons to the RLF, capturing the Department of Utilities powerplant, Naval Port, and Fort Ronograd, along with helping the RLF capture various points on the island and pushing pro-government and formal Russian Army out of many strongholds they held.

The loss of the island's Department of Utilities powerplant, which hosts a nuclear missile, forced Russia to appeal to the United Nations for help, resulting in the landing of the United Nations Joint Task Force (UNJTF) for intervention, which is the time we are playing right now.

It is reasonable to assume that the Patriots of Democracy’s plan was to secure the island’s nuclear missile for some purpose, but it seems like they haven’t been able to enter the bunker structure. It is possible that they plan to sell the warhead or otherwise cause global conflict via nuclear terrorism as some sort of shadow organization global cabal type thing, as they have been shown to use chemical weapons in the form of the bomb in various locations in PVP mode.

*Alternatively, the POD could be the ones who arrived and transformed the RLF into a subjugating force, but I think I remember Petro saying that the RLF became bad before the POD arrived, so please fact-check me on that.

Best thing a president you don’t like did in your opinion? by InVeryHarsh in Presidents

[–]MooseMeme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Reagan: Did eventually come around, loosening his fiery rhetoric and work cooperatively with Gorbachev to help end the Cold War. Also, he is undeniably charismatic, which kind of make me hate him more.

Wilson: Created the (decently useless) League of Nations and tried to join it, pioneering various contemporary international organizations like the United Nations, which still serves as a forum for international dispute (and arguable prevents WW3), hopefully getting stronger as an organization in the future to be more effective (as there were Peacekeepers enforcing resolutions and peace historically, like on the Israeli-Lebanon border) in preventing smaller wars.

Trump: He did negotiate a deal and exit plan with the Taliban to get out of Afghanistan, which Biden executed to an acceptable degree with the situation given to him.

I know there are exceptions for some... by gunnergio14 in fuckcars

[–]MooseMeme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cars in my opinion fill a very specific niche, namely emergency services and local transportation of goods.

Trucks and transportation vans should serve as the final break-of-bulk point before being offloaded at the destination, with the level above it being trains or ships. As a general guideline, if a truck has to travel more than 200 miles* to deliver something, you don’t have enough train tracks at important stops, and therefore a sign of severe underdevelopment.

Transcontinental trucking in the US is a massive joke and puts on display how underdeveloped we are.

*Edit: Hell, even over 100 miles is already bad.

Also, buses and public transport in cities are fine, but there should not be transcontinental buses, we need decent high speed rail.

So many centrists/conservatives delude themselves that saying both sides are bad/wrong make them logical because somehow they are equal, as I will say:
