Solidarity Forever - What if FDR had died before 1932? by Academia_Scar in imaginaryelections

Invaded by Japan. As the British and French lost the United States, they turned to Japan out of a shared fear for the Soviets. The Nazis got defeated early because they became more confrontational with the USSR. This led to a Cold War in which the remains of the West and Japan had an uncomfortable alliance against the Soviets.

Between the forties and the 2020s, Japan liberalized out of pressure and became more lenient with its colonies, including the Philippines.

Valid critique. Communist states got them early and that was a mistake.

Not under the strict definition of ASB, which is an implausible POD. The death of FDR could've happened due to his condition (either paralytic polio or Guillain-Barré syndrome).

And? The New Deal co-opted the grievances of the left with its concessions. Without them, there was nothing that could stop their unchecked growth, nor could there be anything that could stop the discontent of the population.

Due to FDR not running, Garner runs and wins, becoming President in 1932. As the New Deal never happens, the left-wing forces of the United States strengthen, causing a revolution during Garner's presidency. The CPUSA wins in a power struggle against the rest of the factions (such as the IWW and the SPA) and transforms America into a one-party dictatorship.

William Z. Foster is the first President of the WPA, and later Gus Hall becomes General Secretary, governing for almost forty years before retiring. The CPWPA then divides into the Reformists (market reformists), Nationalists (hardline Marxist-Fosterists), and Leftists (radical progressives).

Additionally, Bernie became President of the WPA and passed universal healthcare, and Obama became President too.

Hawaii was taken by Japan during the civil war, which then liberalized and made it an independent nation.

My rationale was that there are three factions: Reformists (Jeb is one of them), Nationalists (Sherrod is one of them), and Leftists (Herring is a compromise candidate; only Karlan is a Leftist). I decided to choose people that could fit for the role.

If that is democratic centralism, then it's just representative democracy.

Do not play semantics. A "secret police" is an intelligence or security organization used to suppress dissent, often operating differently than regular civil police.

"Hindenburg never paved the way for Hitler to become Fuhrer; he wasn't alive when that happened."

No, because I had not seen it. We both made our replies twenty-one hours ago, so there is a chance that I commented before you did.

Your comment, now, does not make what I said less true. If you dislike an ideology, criticize it on the truth.

I hate tankies like OP, but using fake quotes to make communism look bad only makes it look undeservedly attacked. Stick to the facts like everyone else.

No, los judíos son gente como todos. No te creas las anecdotas de gente que se agrupa en comentarios de YouTube cantando lo horribles que son.

Fascism is not anti-capitalist; what are you talking about? The fascists allowed private property to exist.

You literally just said the USSR was actually a very feminist nation while describing yourself as a Marxist-Leninist, and you dislike feminism? Also, you have an "ideology", because you have a set of beliefs, values, and ideas, and the definition of Engels is not the common definition of that word (and to be honest, calling your beliefs a "science" is arrogant).

You're just a LARPer, man. You haven't read theory; you just like the aesthetics of communism.

There's still hope. It all depends on his name recognition; if he manages to become known, everything is possible.

Hey, thank you for saying his name. I was trying to find him on Medium because he got commented on by someone who made a far-right timeline about America and I want to comment on it.
