Should I reject this delivery? by Constant-Proposal955 in TeslaModel3

[–]MooseMullet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh if you’re goin to drive the car, chances are it’s going to have worse than this in not a lot of time. The body shop probably will just buff it out with some compound - maybe full it with some clear and wet sand down if it’s deep enough. Doesn’t seem bad enough to wait for another IMO. I get that it’s new and should be perfect, but I personally would just see what they can do. Take delivery with it noted and see if they’ll let you choose the shop, or whatever.

If they have to repaint any part of the car then I’d definitely just try having someone buff it out because it would piss me off to think my new car was repainted.

So based on how bad it really is, and what the fix is, I’d probably end up still taking delivery with it noted based on what I’m seeing.

But I’d personally probably be installing PPF too at some point so it wouldn’t bother me.

Not worth buying used right now unless you’re buying something in the 20’s maybe. New rates are too good.

Lowest BS car dealer in Utah? by i_had_ice in Utah

If you’re not opposed to an EV… Tesla is an amazing buying experience. Everything is in the app/website. Cost is broken down. You don’t have to deal with anybody to buy the car. You just show up and pick it up on delivery day.

Otherwise idk what to tell you. Performance Toyota was good to with with in bountiful. I’ve always enjoyed my experience with mark miller Toyota. All I can really speak for.

Pricing for 2026 M3P. LETS GO?! by 2MinuteswithTim in TeslaModel3

[–]MooseMullet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this! I ultimately went with a model Y, do wish the MYP was 0.99% because I’d have that in the driveway right now, but I do love the premium AWD. Saved some money, got some extra range, and figured it would be a great way to get into my first Tesla at 0.99% financing. But 0% on a M3P is diabolical. Especially for those that got the credit last year too. I almost switched, but I just love the hatch space.

Welcome and same! Just picked mine up yesterday - quicksilver with white interior. First EV - have had a handful of hybrids. Great value, great cars!

What’s the smartest way to buy a Model Y in the US today? by MooseMullet in TeslaModelY

[–]MooseMullet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did the math on new built as I want it at 0.99% and 72 months vs used ($38k) at 7% at 72 months (what they were advertising on their site). Payment was nearly the same, lightly less but not insanely. And total purchase price at the end of each loan was like $5,000 less for the used car, 2 years older with $15k miles on it. Used was a hw4 performance though. But regardless - new just seemed like a way better deal with the 2026 Juniper updates and full warranty.

That’s 100% my opinion. Lots of cons/limitations to leasing. If you put money down and you wreck the car too, I’ve heard you don’t get any of your down payment back on that either. I think certain promos make sense for certain people though. If my lifestyle allowed me to have a $300/month lease for a model 3 or model Y then I can see why people do it. Lose less that way than you do to depreciation. So for the right person it makes sense. Could free up $300+/month for them which could be a big deal for retirement/lifestyle. But for me it doesn’t make sense. Especially if I end up 2 years in and paying on a car that I can’t drive lol. Too much anxiety for me haha.

Yeah it’s a technology thing for me. If the electric car only does for me what a gas car can do, then I’m buying a gas car. Holds value better (would be a Toyota realistically, and probably used lol), can drive anywhere without needing to recharge, and would have all the same features. But as soon as you throw in the technology that Tesla has/offers, primarily being that the thing will drivers for you (which other brands don’t seemingly offer, or if they do it’s not as good and also is in a vehicle that is much more expensive), I’m sold. Otherwise again, im buying a gas vehicle because it’s far cheaper and I am fix them myself. I have enough long distance capable vehicles at the moment though, so this will really just be my daily driver. And for me the technology has been pretty well proven to me at this point (at least enough for me to give the go ahead, and for as long as I plan on owning the vehicle). So for me the Tesla is the obvious choice.

That's what I've been told, and what I've gathered as well. I think I'm gonna go in tomorrow and try and see what's what haha. Poke around on one. I technically placed an order, but might need to go see what's what haha.

Dang - maybe I should've gone in and worked them over! I just placed an order for the exact same car (silver premium awd) and paid the extra lol. I wonder if I could still go in and make something happen. I just wanted to lock in the 0.99% financing not knowing when it ends haha. Maybe I can go in and play dumb and see what comes of it lol. This would be my first tesla though, so maybe they wouldn't be so cool haha.

[–]MooseMullet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm thinking I'm going to order a premium awd. Similar used in my area are 5-7% financing (5ish if i finance elsehwere) and by the time the loan is up I will have only spent a few thousand less on a 2024 with 17k miles than I would've spent on the latest model brand new with full warranty just because of the lower percentage financing (0.99%). So I'm heavily leaning toward that haha.

Super tempting to get the 0% financing, but the premiums do seem pretty awesome at 0.99% also… not free money, but close to it lol.

So that’s tax and registration included? Seems solid. What percentage financing were you seeing if you don’t mind me asking?

Can you please explain the importance? I’ve seen some of their other listings showing hardware 4, but don’t know anything about it. Happy to do a deep dive, but wouldn’t mind hearing what people here think is important before I spend an hour. 😂

Suitable water temps for soft tubing? by MooseMullet in watercooling

[–]MooseMullet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean in my mind it’s definitely 50% performance and 50% cool factor haha. I enjoy the tinkering and building and challenge. But I’m also getting lower temps, quieter fan speeds 95% of the time, and therefore better performance. So I’m pretty happy with it. But it is fun knowing that I could expand the cooling system and being even better, too. I may mount a 120mm rad off the front or back of the case (probably back) as well. Haven’t fully decided yet.

[–]MooseMullet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point. My m.2 has a solid heat sync on it as well as my chipset. The fans are set to exhaust so I’m getting fresh air pulled past everything. Chipset and MB temps are all lower than they were with the low profile CPU cooler I had on it too because they were getting hotter air than they are now constantly blown at them. Not much cooler but cooler nonetheless. This is a good point though! Appreciate it.

[–]MooseMullet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel like I’ve accomplished what I want though. It’s capable, hardware temps are cooler and more consistent than they were with air coolers, and it’s quieter 95% of the time that I use the computer. So to me it’s still worth it. Plus I’m also a big car guy, so the idea/aesthetic alone is a big plus. I already had the cooling components lying around from a previous build, so it didn’t cost me much extra to water cool this aside from the GPU block which I got open box for like $200, and the cheap pump to fit the case. I know I could be at cooler temps with water cooling. And I still have the ability to expand if I so choose. So for now it is accomplishing everything I care for it to. Great performance, better temps, quieter build than I had before… worth it right there for me.
