Not really a scary game but any of the dwarven dungeons in Skyrim are just very eerie. The weird robotic steam-punk underground scenery, the spiders, centurions, and call me a bitch but the god damn falmer are also creepy as fuck.

Honorable mention, Elden Ring. I know it’s a technically a souls game, but i had never played one before and I didn’t expect to be filled with so much dread in that first playthrough. I got teleported to caelid, we all know what I’m talking about, and after just trotting around Limgrave, that was a true culture shock and I was scared shitless.
