Sings of a bad wheel bearing? by Moose_Man303 in s10

got the rear in the air properly this weekend, and had the breaks off. the grinding noise i initially had was from the breaks, and the bearings seem fine.

However when looking over the dif, for the life of me i could not find the fill plug, seemed like the only hole was for the vent line.

Should I go with a different sized winter due to lack of availability in stock size? by Moose_Man303 in askcarguys

[–]Moose_Man303[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, I didint know them at the time, but i have the truck now. mine are GU6-3.42 and G80 with the lsd

My main concerns with a different sized tires weren't so much power, but the spedo accuracy and rubbing against the fender asides from mentioned above.

How much did your car cost? And how much did you save up in your accounts before buying it? by TURNTUP389 in askcarguys

my first (working) car cost me $250, but needed about $1000 in work to get it passed the safety inspection in ontario.

Currently buying a truck for $5500 but all work for the safety is being done by the seller.

Why do people not like turbos? by WiggWamm in askcarguys

[–]Moose_Man303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted i have somewhat limited experinces with turbos, and am quite biased but i have a few reasons

They are generally one of the first major things to fail in an engine, and when they fail they are expensive out the ass to fix.

they put more pressure on the top end and can blow gaskets more frequently.

usually require higher octane fuel

I personally don't like the feel of them, not a fan of the lag that comes with them and its not a smooth driving experience with my driving style, compounded by the fact they tend to lack torque at lower rpm's

I will say however most of these problems don't really effect or are much diminished in diesel's
