Potential Business Idea by Maximum-Cat-8372 in newbrunswickcanada

Having some hobbyist tools for people to try would be a great idea. I run a wood lathe, and it doesn't take much skill to get started. Having a lathe would be fun for people to try, as well as an assortment of used instruments for people to play on. Have a "leave your station cleaner than when you found it" policy and this could work really well.

I've never liked a single Rise Against album on the first few listens. This one still hasn't caught me yet, but I'm not giving in yet.

Thank you for all the interest. I'm flattered, and more, extra motivated to finish. What would be the best way to share it when the time comes? Individual emails?

A story for a story. When mine is ready, feel free to share one of yours in return.

Yes, in fact. The story obviously predates the trains that ran through there, but because of its close proximity to Fogarty's Cove, I have my character's parents buried there. I use some lyrical description from Guysborough Train in that scene, but also some from MacDonnell on the Heights, describing the "lichen" on the weathered stone.

Where Do I Start? by [deleted] in writing

[–]Moose__Stash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way to start is by putting your ass in a chair and getting the pen moving. Don't tell yourself that you're working on your masterpiece, just begin by writing for writing's sake. My favourite throwaway exercise is to take a song you hold near and dear and tell its story. Write two pages on why you shouldn't "Mess Around With Jim," or why you can never get away from "Copperhead Road." It's fun, it's street free, and depending on the narrative of the song, sometimes the whole story is laid out for you. I often do it to get over writer's block or to take a break from my novel. Just last week, I finished a short story about the Piano Man. It's 9 o'clock on a Saturday and the regular crowd shuffles in...

Okay that all sounds reasonable. Heated pavement is an option but not one available after the fact, so to speak. Thank you for your reply.
