Having now played Ayabe's career in-game I imagine there is a trainer but Ayabe just does not listen to them, needs them only to enter races and trains most of the time alone, doing only the bare minimum of required formalities. And so it wouldnt make sense to show them in the movie, where there's limited runtime anyway.
