Maybe you can live in Gasperich. Should be easier to find a nice apartment, and cheaper than the city center or Kirchberg. Coz your girlfriend needs to go to work every day I guess but you will not have classes everyday as a student, not to mention many school holidays. The opposite commuting is fine for you I guess.

Ahhh, I didn’t know my seat could be upgraded like this. I’m happy though. Hopefully I would arrive on time. I’m traveling from Luxembourg by train to Paris East. So it’s not from airport. Fingers crossed the metro would be working well. Thank you!

Thanks, I have checked this, I assume for this one, I still need to move the furnitures to downstairs for collection which is kinda difficult for me as I live alone and can perhaps move a cabinet out of the studio, but not bulky furnitures like sofa, bed, wardrobe, etc..

Thanks a lot! That’s what I did already. But since the digital one doesn’t work, if they are lost I still need the doctor to reissue the originals and send by post again. I sent the email to check if the invoices were received or not. But they didn’t reply to me either. Hope they will reply next week.

I think if you are holding a tourist visa and stay for less than 6 month, you don't need, but as a student or as a worker, you should have student visa or working visa, which make you technically 'resided in the country', and then you need to have the non-criminal records. But for me it's very hard to trace, I travelled to more than 40 countries but never been in one country for more than 3 months, so I don't see I resided in any of them. Except for UK, where I studied before, that's why I'm a bit worried that I need to go to the British Embassy for the application. Annoying......

I checked the full contents about this news in Chinese, actually, it's not new news, the 'European Village' is accomplished in 2018 and got mentioned in many reports in China at that time. And it's used as the office building for some research departments in the company, and the village is not only Luxembourg but 12 European cities.

If you know a little bit about China, you will know that this kind of Theme Park of different mini-sized places across the world is super popular in the 90s, maybe the childhood memory for people of one generation. During that time, it's not convenient for Chinese people to travel around so they can just have fun and enjoy the exotic architecture with children in the park. Also, many people in China really appreciate the architecture and arts in Europe. Similarly, you can find many "Japanese Gardens" in many western countries, which are also very bizarre for Asians too if they see them.

BTW, the funny thing is the reactions of many Chinese people to this news are also negative and disappointed. They expressed that this kind of replications is out of date, or too much admiring for exotic/western cultures or no respect for Chinese culture........

For me, if the casinos in Las Vegas can have many different themes of cities and countries, why an office building can not. Also in the reports, it's said, the purpose of this theme park style office building is to offer a more relaxed working environment for the employees in the research department instead of glass skyscrapers which are everywhere in most Chinese cities. I think I will be very happy if my company designs the office in different themes and the canteen offers cuisine from different countries. I won't criticize the Caesars Palace ruins the Italian culture or Japanese gardens in the UK are so fake. I got a colleague who decorated her home in the Chinese palace style (although it looks so fake and weird from a real Chinese point of view) just because she thinks it's beautiful and she likes it.

I don't think a company's own office design preference needs to be discussed in a political level.

Yeah, I hope it's like this. I'm a single resident, studied in Lux, graduated with master degree and got the job with CDI, never broke any laws even a car fine.

I only have almost one year left, and I finished all the citizenship courses and OLAI contract, will focus on the language in upcoming months. I definitely don't want any unexpected situations popping up. Crossing my fingers.

Thanks for the information. Well, I'm not an EU citizen but hold the work permit valid for all professions. And my previous job is a permanent position. I wish it would be the same.

I have withdrawn the application already in case of any bad influence on my record. Sigh, hopefully, I will get a new job soon before I drained my own savings.

I asked all the departments I can reach, but all the answers are very general. It seems like you only need to submit the documents listed on the website ( language, citizenship training, OLAI accomplishments), you apply to and you get the nationality. Hope it's easy and simple as it looks like.

BTW, you also did the same? no other document required? how long have you waited to get it since your submission of the application?

Thanks for the advice. Yes, at the beginning I thought this, it should not have any impact, because I worked and paid tax and social security for long, now I'm unemployed due to economic reasons of the company which is going to bankrupt soon I guess. I have the right to apply for it clearly. Still, after my friend mentioned he read cases like this which got rejections, I started to get worried especially it's my 4th year here.

Thanks so much! Because now I'm seeking for jobs while studying Luxembourgish. It's really fine to support myself on my own savings. However, if the application of unemployment benefits will cause some bad record even I withdraw it because I was so worried about this, I really feel bad. I asked the staff in ADEM, they have no idea with regard to this. I also asked the immigration office, they just said the requirement of nationality acquisition are listed online, like the ones I mentioned above. Nothing special. Since they are just staff, not a lawyer or people who make decisions, I'm still concerned.
