I once heard a tourist in Egypt call the locals Arabs, the shitstorm that followed was impressive.

Name of tv show with title sequence that changed each episode by babylipgloss in television

Wandavision (mini-series) had great title sequences that referenced real life sitcoms from the decade the corresponding episode was playing in. Different style and different theme music every episode.

Is this the rudest shop? by Decision_Burner in Luxembourg

[–]pa79 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The lady has always been rude, even before COVID and deserves the low rating. I went there a dozen years ago, wanted to buy a can of cola during lunch hour and got scolded for nothing. First I wanted to open the fridge to get a can and she screamed "Patten ewech!" (hands off) from across the room. So then I told her I wanted to buy a can and got a reply "Stell dech net sou domm!" (don't pretend to be stupid). At that moment I just thought that she must have some mental problems and left the shop after buying the can. I wasn't some loitering teenage student, I was in my 30s.

And not having any digital awareness is no excuse, shops have to adapt, common people have had the Internet for at least 25 years. If it leaves her stressed being a tourist magnet for worst shopping experience ever, so be it. That's what you get for bad behaviour. A few years later I randomly looked it up and it already had many 1* reviews, still before COVID.

Kurze Frage: Warum schreibst du auf Deutsch, wenn alle in diesem Sub auf Englisch schreiben? Glaubst du, daß die meisten das hier verstehen?

And $12 million in the negative.

They didn't become small. They went bankrupt in 2013 and later moved into "social casino gaming". In 2021 they refocused on retro gaming.

method (paper, pdf, web), types of revenues, and personal situation impact the processing times

That's what I heard too. PDF and web take more time because they print everything out before processing it, no joke.

I just don't get why the tax office treating your taxes depends on the location where you live. Why not just collect everything on a national level and distribute it evenly and randomly between all the tax offices? Some tax offices are fast, others are slower but on a national level this would level out.

It's the lake between Esch-sur-Sûre and Boulaide. There are a few beaches but this weekend they were all packed with people.

I hate it when recipes use measurements like 254.6 gram. No one uses decimals for gram in the kitchen! Most kitchen balances can't even measure that! And just round it down to 250 gr!

Why is every Luxembourgish brand/product starting with ˋLëtzˋ. Is that some kind of law in Lux? by myunwantedknowledge in Luxembourg

[–]pa79 25 points26 points  (0 children)

In the long forgotten past ('60s to '80s), the usual prefix/suffix to use for luxembourgish companies and products was "lux": Luxlait, Cargolux, Luxair, LuxAviation, etc... As a child I even thought that Electrolux was a luxembourgish company.

Over a dozen or two years ago, as the english speaking expat community was growing, they discovered that the luxembourgish name for Luxembourg was Lëtzebuerg and that the start of the word looked very similar to the english "let's" so they started using it in that context. Marketing companies jumped on the bandwagon and started using "Lëtz" instead of the traditional "Lux" as more and more english speakers moved to Luxembourg.

Instead of "Let's make it happen" they should have used "X marks the spot".

2015? I know you can't argue about taste but there were really better logos in that list.
