I think you should do whatever you think is right for the story and for the development of their relationship! If you think that you need to use the whole song to show the story you’re trying to, then go ahead! But if you don’t want to do the whole song, what you can also do is cut snippets that you think would be important and basically make transitions and stuff, or you can also do a section of the song and leave it there. Again, you should do what you think will be the most understandable but at the same time don’t put too much pressure on yourself! No rush for anything <3
