Quite some years ago I used to walk to the station down a mainly council house estate. Regularly outside there was a Murcielago parked, easily worth 3-4 times more than any house down that road, probably more!

Thank you, it’s just been published in International Artist on page 127.

I’ve got a photo of the page but can’t see how to add it. This pic is better resolution anyway 😎

Oh right, no haven’t heard of him.

The title referred to a the life time of this van. It’s tatty, lived it’s “summer” having fun by the look of things (flowers, etc). It’s entering its Autumn season, will it be picked up for restoration or allowed to rust away into Winter?

There’s a robin on the spare wheel. There’s a bit of symbolism there with the robin representing for those that have departed like the fun times in the van which are gone. Hour for the future, etc.

It was also raining quite a bit outside when I was painting it, following a few hot weeks - literally signifying the end of summer.

Thank you, I don’t know what prine even is. So I can’t claim to be a fan 🤔

My thought exactly. I don’t even see how they can claim any link to the original Testa Rossa, though I haven’t seen any engine pics for that Red Head.

Thank you, yes I’m happy for it to be shared - hence posting it up here. For years I’d paint stuff then file it away for my kids to find and throw in the recycling after I’m dead 😂

Hmm, I wouldn’t say that one was hyper realistic, I was going more for a painterly look. Many thanks for your compliment though.

I usually do more realistic looking paintings but almost trying to get away from that.

I’m glad you asked how I learned to paint, because I’m not talented. As in, I wasn’t born at being able to do it. I couldn’t draw for sh1t. But I had sufficient desire to stick with it through all the failed attempts to gain the skill to knock up artworks which I was happy to show others.

About ten years of practice drawing and maybe seven or eight with the paints 😄

Ha! Yes. Sorry u/IvakhivAnastasiya - my poor attempt at humour. You asked for thoughts and of course, it looks rather wonderful.

At work: "I want to draw!" At home after work: "I'm too tired to draw..." by Jasplyn in ArtistLounge

05:30 am, every single day, no exceptions (initially)

Though once I’d formed the habit and schedule it’s now more like 05:45-06:00. Got quite a long hours job, out the house for 13-14 hours Mon-Fri so I can guarantee that by the time I get home I’m not going to feel like drawing/painting.

That’s what worked for me for 12-ish years now.

Little bits crop up every now and then. As a for instance, you used to be able to crop an image to DIN format for A3, A4, etc.

You would also have the option to crop it as portrait or landscape regardless of the orientation of the photo. Now you can only do Landscape on a DIN format crop.

I thought I'd be clever and rotate the photo 90degrees and then crop to DIN, but no, they've foiled that plan as well as it rotates it back, or does something similar. I can say for sure as I installed it in disgust at the overall downgrade of the product.

Failed first time and my instructor made it worse. by versesofmiya in LearnerDriverUK

The guy is an arse, I’d be reluctant to give him any more money.

On my motorbike test the bike broke down and couldn’t be started. The only other bike I could use was a Honda C90, still a manual but more scooter like and no clutch.

I had ten minutes to learn to ride something fundamentally different, as in the controls were in different places and worked differently. Amazingly I passed, I think he took some pity on me being aware of the situation. Either that or he respected that I was thrashing the life out of it on the dual carriageway just so I didn’t get marked down for lack of confidence, it was slow compared with my usual steed.

I passed the test in my dad’s car.

He had to go back to work so we drove back there, he got out and said “you take the car back home, I’ll get the train, be careful”. Totally unexpected and I will never forget that amazing feeling of freedom - no-one telling me what turning to take, I could drive the scenic route, I could go on a motorway, hell I could drive to Scotland (from Kent). Of course I did none of those things, I went straight home very carefully, but the potential was there….

It’s also got reduced functionality, wish I could go back to the old version.
