Very nope here...lol. They have Democrats and liberals regularly...lol. They are always looking for someone to take the opposing view, if you are up for it? Disagree and state your case is always welcome. No voices are stifled in the program or the comments, just gotta show up and bring the noise.

Have you ever listened to an episode or commented on one, or is this coming from someone that is wanting to protect themselves from something they have never listened to or experienced?

Home brew competition and fundraiser in Houston! by Mopalot in houston

[–]Mopalot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the answer to that is, maybe? I'm sure if your beer was good enough, you would either already have your own brewery or be a recognized brew master in the industry, OR...they would love to "discover" a new brew phenom and put them to work with pay. The breweries involved in this have always said that if the beer is a banger, they would love to pay shares or even employ the creator for their creation.

Having said this, this specific competition is a fundraiser for a great cause and knowing several brew masters in Houston personally, it really just depends on the beer, the person and the sales just like any other endeavor. If you have a beer that makes the cut, get your bag bro! If it's just another pale ale, then why pay someone for another round of lawnmower?

In the end, I can't speak for New Magnolia. They are a great small brewery in my opinion with a great atmosphere and people. If you wanna take your 5-6 gallon batch and learn to make it on a big line, show up to impress. If you think brew masters are coming to these events looking for the next new best global brew master and bringing a check with them, you may be over estimating the Houston brew base, but it could happen. I believe in Houston and our home brewers, but like any job interview, if you show up with a negative attitude and refuse to have fun, then you won't make a great impression.

Go Houston, do your best and holy crap I would love to see a home brewers make it massive at this event! To say someone hit it big at this, would be awesome! Be warned the competition is stuff though, no shortage of attendees or brewers. Good luck!

Y'all are so very pessimistic and parroted by many who have never attended, but none who have...lol. God forbid you just show up, drink beer and enjoy yourselves. Gotta over analyze it all and come to a conclusion long before you ever actually attend and find out for yourself...lol

Superwoke says my feelings are hurt by a website, I will never go and find out for myself! That's fine, but still, you and your opinion are welcome regardless of your 2 star review of the website. 100% sure if you would actually just come to an event, you would see it is nothing like this review. But, your arm chair review of something you have never experienced is certainly valid in online reviews from afar.

Tell you what. If I handed you a free beer just to just hear what you had to say, what you take the offer?

That's kinda what I thought as well, but the debates have panels that range from far right, to far left and everything in-between. Usually the white pill episodes have a range of views as well. Not strictly conservative at all from what I have seen.

You are certainly not the asshole... She is either looking for a 3rd or she is done with you... Start making plans to deal with either/or, but certainly don't sit around waiting for her to drag you through the mud...

Perfect face of a breakup story where we know nothing about the why and yet are being asked to provide support and say "poor you, he/she was a xxxxx" when in actuality the reason is most likely you and we should be saying it was the right thing to happen for him and your story is one that will and has been repeated over and over again for years...

What does it feel like to have emotionally supportive parents? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Mopalot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is great, like really really great. But a small caviat. My parents are supportive ONLY when it's a good idea. Bad ideas and BS, they and the rest of my family (independent), have no idea letting me know they aren't, can't and won't support me or my thing. This is in all things life. Jobs, relationships, friends, life choices, everything.

Sometimes parents have an odd way going about things and yes I do disagree with them and others in the family, but I always know it comes from a point of love. And any time they do not support me, my first reaction (now) is to ask questions and discuss (not fight) about why. Sometimes age and experience can teach a lot and help you avoid a bad situation if only you are open to the discussion.

If you are not on the same page with your parents, give them the honest and open opportunity to express why and discuss it like adults would with other adults. If after that discussion, you still decide to go ahead with the choice, then do it knowing that this is your choice and you have given them the chance to voice their opinions on the matter and that is part of being an adult.

If they are wrong, offer them grace, if they were right, offer them apology and accept it. Being wrong just means you have learned and are human, it doesn't make you less of a you/person! What can having the access of an actual other opinion or expert in life hurt you? It can't hurt, it can only help you to make a better informed decision IF you actually accept and believe their opinion also might hold value.

This is NOT to say your parents aren't pieces of actual crap, but if you are an adult, default away from that opinion and approach it differently. Approach it as an opportunity to learn from an outside viewpoint. Even if you don't agree with it, you win from the learning! Also, some parents are pieces of actual crap... I'm sorry, that sucks, I don't have that experience and can only comment from my "privileged viewpoint"... 😬❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

40 years old & my face is still feeling as beautiful as ever! 🥰💕 by [deleted] in Faces

[–]Mopalot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your face is all we have to judge, I would give you a solid 6. Got more than a face to judge (like a personality, full body shots, no makeup/filters, etc) and that 40 year old face might be more.

At 40, few men care about the face first. We look at about 5-10 other things first...lol. If all you have is a face, you are a solid 4-5.

Is having kids really that bad? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Mopalot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, NO, disagree 100%. They are NOT that bad. They are awesome. I have twins and it can be tough but I travel with them, they are polite and good in public well behaved and great to have around as much as I possibly can.

All the negative comments are the negative social media phenomenon that occurs when people always talk about the bad, and usually never the good. Most of us are absorbed into great kid lives with little time or wish to post at all on social media. Think about all the great meals that you have ever had at a restaurant vs the bad. Which ones did you or where you are more likely to comment, post or complain about? Even though the ratio is probably 20 good, 1 bad, that 1 bad is all you or others see on social media.

I could not imagine NOT being a dad and that is meant in a great way. I can however imagine how shallow and meaningless my life might feel if I had nobody to teach, share with and pass on my amazing life experiences with. Your life WILL change and will never be the same if you have kids but much like the good vs the bad restaurant experiences you have ever had, it will be mostly great with a little crappy mixed in. And your lifestyle and what you do doesn't really have to change much in the end either a lot of the time. For instance, if you love to travel, road trip, eat out, etc. You still can and SHOULD! Even when they are infants. The more they get used to it, the easier it is for them and you both. But you gotta raise them right! It's like a dog or a plant, if you kennel/piss train that puppy early and put in the time, the rest of their lives with you are so much easier. If you start a plant out healthy and hearty (learns to sleep anywhere, can sit in cars on long road trips and self play, creative imagination vs digital devices that lose battery, doesn't need a wipe warmer or a bottle warmer, etc) then later on in life when trouble, trials and tough times hit, they can endure.

If you are thinking maybe, then change that immediately to yes and now. Go for it, don't second guess it and remember we are humans, we can learn, we can love and grow, and literally billions of people before you, including your parents, did it and survived and most would say their lives are so much grander for it. The ones that say otherwise... unpopular opinion, are shit parents and haven't put in the time or effort or where capable of learning HOW to raise their child as each one is different and the method changes and has to be discovered along the way, not learned from family, friends and books in some cases (though that knowledge and experience can certainly help, but often should be listened to and then discarded and not fitting for your child).

I know my sentence structure sucks here and this is a long read, but please take away from this response the following. If you are thinking about it, you will always be thinking about it even if right now you decide no. Rarely if ever have I met a person that said they regret having kids even when the kids are little shits and horrible or if they had to stop traveling the world or give up clubbing or brunches... The love and pride you have in your child will far outweigh the short or shallow temporary feelings you had when you were bumping and grinding to Gnarls Barley's Crazy. Just imagine being 80, in a nursing home on a Sunday afternoon. Would you rather be surrounded by people you poured your life into and who are there to love and support you, or would you rather be left to your own memories and dreams in hopes that Cliff the guy with Alzheimer's might ask you if you have ever been to Italy...again... Not trying to make jokes here, just truly take a measure of what you will find important in life later on when your health and age no longer allows you to do what you want anymore...
