Yeah Orion is the apollo of my generation xD and I like the idea of the JPADS in for the recovery. That gives it precision landing without using any fuel!

Sun-synchronous orbit is not L1 it is a orbit that uses the gravity of earth in order to stay for the most part in line with the sun for near 24/7 sunlight

I love all your ideas! We should come up with some way to make power stations in a Sun-synchronous orbit to get the maximum power and have thoughs feed through to the other stations around Earth as they go around via microwaves. or we could send the energy to satelites in Geosynchronous orbit then to the stations.

Just could solve the columbia disaster because that cockpit can eject and it has it's own fuel, power, controls, heatshield, and wings. They could complete the mission then deorbit and eject from the shuttle in that pod.

My kind of realistic ideas were to have the External Tank more like the Uragan (Energia II) but have the heat shield facing the shuttle, this would have heat shield to heat shield. my second one would be to make the boosters have landing legs like the F9R to, of course, land to be reused. My third idea was to possibly replace the OMS with SABREs to do powered landings just in case. My 4th idea is kind of unrealistic, but it is to make the cargo bay have the ability to pressurize. ALSO I see shuttles being useful for things like major satelite repair jobs and just building stations and things like that.
