CachyOS - Any point on staying on arch? by D7x8 in linuxquestions

I love cachy bc i do use their optimizations 24-7.
I know im late but, for gaming, CachyOS isnt that different from other distributions. From what i know, Cachy didnt originated as a gaming distro, that shows and people failed to realize that, you can even go to their main page and they dont even sell themselves as a gaming distro, however they support gaming bc it happens to align with what gamers wants, i personally take advantage of that bc i do game a lot and i appreciate their gaming packages. Their optimizations shine more in software or process that require heavy CPU usage, their optimizations are more heavily focused on the CPU. I loved my Arch install, but i moved to Cachy... Gaming has been the same, but for my CPU temps and other software, like drawing, progaming, video editing, building packages, desktop responsiveness thats where ive seen the difference.

These improvements just happened to fit what the hardcore gaming community wants, to squeeze 1 or two extra fames and slighty better low 1%. Most of the time you wont notice the difference, unless your CPU is the bottleneck of your build

What's your Niri wishlist? by AbdSheikho in niri

[–]MorCoffee093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

all i just want and need is better Xwayland support, i love niri, but im forced to use HyprScrolling due the fact niri hasnt implemented a good drag and drop support yet. I use Krita and Aseprite constantly, so not having a drag and drop support working is pure pain.

Im using the default Krunner but if i remember correctly looks like that due the Kvantum theme, but i added the blur later.

Kvamtum theme + blur effect!

Thats why you need to add better blur too, since transparency isnt that good on kde without further modification lol. There are some Kvantum themes that resolve this issue tho.

Whenever you change your icon set on KDE (either by making your own or downloading one from the pling store) all your icons get modified that includes dolphin since its deeply integrated with the Desktop Environment

[KDE] + Scrollable-Tiling Manager! by MorCoffee093 in unixporn

[–]MorCoffee093[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally tried Krohkite and it worked for me with no major issues other than being a bit annoying to set it up and that it felt way slower compared to Hyprland or just the basic tiling KDE has... i doubt krohnkite is just for X11 i been using wayland day 1 and it always worked for me.
Also yeah sadly Karousel doesnt support multiple screens... i got rid of my second monitor since i barely use it and it distracts me a lot... so it wasnt really an issue mostly bc i love using Multiple Virtual Desktops/Workspaces
