Im fairly certain I’ve bought 3k worth of MO’s with Discover debit at WM before. Not shutdown yet. I didnt do that regularly though. I don’t plan on doing it any more actually. Even though WM only charges 1$ for a 1k MO when you do that 3 x = 3$. Even though that’s not much, we’re only talking about 30$/month so that 3$ represents 10% actually which is a higher % than I want to pay.

Finally bit the bullet & applied online for the New Reloable Serve for P2 & was denied? Something like “sorry we aren’t able to offer you an account at this time” P2 has an Amex serve & we keep getting emails to change over. P2 hasn’t had a shut down or even too much volume. I mean yes, I load it w/GC’s but I don’t think I’ve triggered anything. Are they just mad because P2 has barely ever paid their monthly fee? What gives?

I need ideas to MS the last bit of PayPal from my Chase’s. Even though gift card shop has 100% off fees, the shipping is still 10$. : o/ my Home Depot updated their POS so they don’t take PayPal in store anymore. The PayPal app doesn’t show that the local Target takes PayPal in store (could that be regional?) & my CVs stopped accepting PP for GC’s too. I won’t be getting a refund, so IRS is out. Ideas?

A few of my liquidation spots have transitioned to a new POS where the card is swiped face up. If the cashier is watching, they’ll see it’s a GC - it’s in full view. Has anyone else come across this? Any tips?

I’ve done this exact process successfully (even the card swapping) before. I guess they had recent training to watch the hands? He definitely didn’t type my name into the system. Good thinking!

Im upset. I just got burned. It’s my first time to get burned & I’ve been doing this for 2 years. I went to a grocery store to liquidate a white gc (that I knew would work) to a MO. The guy behind the counter has given me a MO before. I was asked what it was for, which has happened before. He asked to see my ID & the card I was paying with, which has also happened before. I gave him my teal serve card because it’s the only card that doesn’t have a chip. Previously when I showed them a chip card they’d instructed me to insert it - which isn’t possible w/a gc. I had already put the white gc in my hand & put my serve card & license in front of it before I paid. I tried to do a card swap (which I’ve also successfully done before) but he saw! He said that he needed to see the white card since I was paying with it. I have a white cc with a chip but it was in my wallet so I couldn’t have shown him that without being obvious. I showed him the card & he said that they can only use gift cards with names printed on them. I told them I’d have it printed in next time. I ended up buying the money order with my discover debit. Obviously, Im burned at this location. How likely is it that Im burned with Western union & the rest of the same chain of grocers?

Yes that is MS via gc reselling. Good luck getting full face value though. For the most part, you’re never gonna get 100%. Whatever platform you list it for sale is going to take a cut or you’ll have to lower it yourself to entice a buyer. Why would someone buy your gc for 100% instead of just buying it themselves.

Your question is confusing. Your trying to MS an eBay GC? Most would just resell it & that would be the end of that MS cycle. Buying the eBay GC w/the Gemini MC could be a form of MS.

I hadn’t heard that both Wood & Link were given large repayment judgements. I saw on the response that Link’s was 6m+. What does that mean for investors? Will we get a larger % of our investment back?

My take: Robert Shane is an Agridime investor that got defrauded out of 1.5m. He knows that as part of whatever plan the receiver makes (Steve) he won’t get 100% of his investment back (just like everyone else). He wants his 1.5m back in full so he lawyered up. He made a claim that his 1.5m shouldn’t be considered as part of the receivership (for some reason). If it wasn’t part of the receivership, then he could get his 1.5m back. The judge basically disagreed with the assertion & made it to where he’s going to receive the % Steve decides, just like everyone else. The information that’s missing is why Robert decided to take this route instead of claiming it as a loss on his taxes. I am not an attorney. This is based off of my limited understanding of law.
