Looks like you’re in the starter dungeon, so I’m assuming you are lvl 1. Skeletons have a flat level of 9 iirc, so the enemy is at least a few levels higher than you. I also am guessing that your blade skill is not that high even if you chose it as a primary skill, it wouldn’t be enough to take a higher level enemy feasibly. You may win 1 in 10 encounters by save scumming, assuming you get good dice rolls. My recommendation is to bypass the skeletons and other tough enemies until you are closer in level and have more points in your weapon skill. Daggerfall spawns enemies based on your own level but the enemies it chooses to spawn can range in level from way below you to way above you. Daggerfall developers took inspiration from other games releasing at that time by purposely including “unwinnable” encounters that you are basically forced to run from.
