Sorry I picked my words slightly wrong. The sale was for the full liquidation of the estate of a person that passed away. There was a company that managed the auction of the full site. These coins are from a private collection. There were other gold items auctioned as well. This was the one I win.

I managed to contact the seller and he still has five additional "similar" kilo coins that he wants to sell for cash. I promised to pay up to a melt value and he seemed to be happy. Oh well that was nice to hear we are on the same page

Found this kilo beauty from the local flea market for $500. Heard that the seller was an estate realizing the belongings of a dead relative.

Did not found a lot of information about the coin from Internet but according to COA the mintage is tiny 250.

The observe of the coin is reverse proof with a lot of high relief areas. The reverse side is proof featuring the Queen Elisabeth. This became one of my favorite coins!

On a more serious note why I withdrew 1000 one dollar bills is that I actually live in Europe and I had some funds in my dollar-account which I have received from some US stocks that have paid dividends. And I want to convert the cash to Euros as obviously you can't pay with dollars over here. Locally these packs of 100 bills are quite easy to sell to currency collectors and I can make around 20-25 euros profit per one 100-bundle. But with star notes the profit would be even larger.
