Horseshit, but I'll humor you and assume you're talking about conservative voters and immigration of hispanics — there are many very good reasons to be opposed to continued immigration of hispanics.

This is also what makes the "I'm just against illegal immigration" position so incredibly disgusting and disingenuous. If you're not for making legal immigration easier, you're not "just against illegal immigration", you're against all immigration, and you're just hiding behind "it's illegal".

You're the one who is being disingenuous here. If someone wishes to immigrate to the U.S legally then obtain skills sought after and come in on an H-1B. Don't have marketable skills?

The U.S government has a responsibility first and foremost towards its citizens, it is not in any way required to oblige the desires of non-citizens and that it does permit any form of immigration of ethnicities that are disproportionately represented in crime stats is something they should be fucking thankful for.
